Abstract

ABSTACT The online learning from home system is a logging system that requires the role of families and parents in guiding their children. Therefore, family communication between parents and children is needed in optimizing learning from home programs during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to find out how family communication activities in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic (Case Study on Urban Families with Elementary School Age Children in North Jakarta). This research was conducted with a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative descriptive method with in-depth interviews with supervisors or parents of elementary school students in urban families in North Jakarta. Where researchers interview sources to collect primary data and collect secondary data. The results of this study show that family communication activities during the online learning process by urban families go both ways, where parents and children can exchange opinions and discuss. as well as providing learning assistance and motivation to children to support the teaching and learning process so that it can run effectively. Supporters in family communication activities by urban families in North Jakarta are the closeness of parents and parental concern for children. Meanwhile, the obstacles to family communication are limited communication time, student facilities, and low mentor education, internet networks and quotas so that children's learning motivation decreases. Keywords : Communication Activities, Family Communication, Covid-19 Pandemic ABSTRAK Sistem belajar dari rumah secara daring merupakan sistem pembealajran yang membutuhkan peran keluarga maupun orang tua dalam membimbing anak-anaknya. Maka dari itu diperlukan komunikasi keluarga antara orang tua dan anak dalam mengoptimalkan program belajar dari rumah selama pandemi covid-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana aktivitas komunikasi keluarga dalam pembelajaran daring di masa pandemi covid-19 (Studi Kasus pada Keluarga Urban dengan Anak Usia Sekolah Dasar di Jakarta Utara). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan paradigma konstruktivis dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam pada pembimbing atau orang tua siswa sekolah dasar pada keluarga urban di Jakarta Utara. Dimana peneliti mewawancarai narasumber untuk mengumpulkan data primer dan mengumpulkan data sekunder. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas komunikasi keluarga selama proses pembelajaran daring oleh keluarga urban berjalan dua arah, dimana orang tua dan anak dapat saling bertukar pendapat dan berdiskusi. serta memberikan pendampingan belajar dan motivasi kepada anak untuk menunjang proses belajar mengajar agar dapat berjalan efektif. Pendukung dalam aktivitas komunikasi keluarga oleh keluarga urban di Jakarta Utara yaitu kedekatan orang tua dan kepedulian orang tua kepada anak. Sedangkan, Penghambat komunikasi keluarga yaitu terbatasnya waktu komunikasi, fasilitas siswa, serta pendidikan pembimbing yang rendah, jaringan internet dan kuota sehingga motivasi belajar anak menurun.
