Abstract
Indonesia is a country full of culture, with great potential to create novelty in internationalscale toys, such as barbie dolls. The market already owned by this toy is very large, it will have a good impact if toy products that already have high popularity are given innovations in various Indonesian cultures. Indonesian culture what is meant is batik, particularly batik Beasan from Cianjur, a small country in Indonesia. Shape and motif on batik Beasan will be explored, to create a new look. Batik Beasan are chosen due to its beautiful naturalistic aspect. And the exploration will be focused on making new motif, new pattern and new shape inspired by the original Batik Beasan. Then this exploration applied to 3 different barbie party dresses, that is: Evening Dress, Garden Party Dress and Cocktail dress. This dresses selected to made a glamours modern dresses and represent nature and culture of Indonesia. Keyword: Batik, Beasan, Barbie, Party Dress Indonesia adalah negara yang penuh budaya, dengan potensi besar untuk menciptakan kebaruan dalam mainan berskala internasional, seperti boneka barbie. Pasar yang sudah dimiliki mainan ini sangat besar, hal ini akan berdampak baik jika produk mainan yang sudah memiliki popularitas tinggi ini diberikan inovasi-inovasi di berbagai budaya Indonesia. Budaya Indonesia yang dimaksud adalah batik, khususnya batik Beasan dari Cianjur, sebuah negara kecil di Indonesia. Bentuk dan motif pada batik Beasan akan dieksplorasi, untuk menciptakan tampilan baru. Batik Beasan dipilih karena keindahan alam pada motifnya. Dan eksplorasi akan difokuskan pada pembuatan motif baru, pola baru dan bentuk baru yang terinspirasi dari Batik Beasan asli. Eksplorasi ini kemudian diterapkan pada 3 gaun pesta barbie yang berbeda, yaitu: Evening Dress, Garden Party Dress dan Cocktail dress. Gaungaun ini dipilih untuk menjadikan gaun-gaun modern yang glamor dan mewakili alam dan budaya Indonesia. Kata Kunci: Batik, Beasan, Barbie, Busana Pesta
