Abstract

ABSTRAK Berita bohong/hoaks sering ditemukan di media sosial, terlebih dimasa pandemi covid-19 . Hal inidapat menimbulkan kegaduhan dan juga perpecahan antar masyarakat. Tujuan Peneliti adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemberlakuan Undang-undang ITE Pasal 28 ayat (1) dalam penyebaran berita hoaks tentang covid-19 memberikan efek yang ditimbulkan dalam aktivitas di media sosial instagram melalui persepsi mahasiswa public relations Jakarta masing-masing. Adapun Metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tipe penelitian deskriptif. Proses yang dilakukan dalam metode penelitian ini yaitu dengan mengumpulkan data berdasarkan kenyataan atau fakta yang ada dilapangan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan informan dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis interaktif dengan tahapan : reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Sedangkan teknik validitas yang dulakukan adalah menggunakan metode triangulasi sumber yaitu informan yang ahli atau informan ahli. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa Pemberlakuan Undang-undang ITE pasal 28 ayat (1) dapat memberikan efek yang cukup mendukung kehidupan mahasiswa Public Relations Jakarta khususnya dalam mengakses media sosial Instagram. Efek yang ditimbulkan bisa menjadi efek positif ataupun efek negative. Kata Kunci: Berita Hoaks, Covid-19, Persepsi, Mahasiswa Public Relations, Media Sosial, Instagram. ABSTRACT Fake news/hoaxes are often found on social media, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. This can cause chaos and division between communities. The aim of the researcher is to find out how the implementation of the ITE Law Article 28 paragraph (1) in the spread of hoax news about covid-19 has an effect on activities on Instagram social media through the perceptions of each Jakarta public relations student. The research method used by the author is to use a qualitative approach to the type of descriptive research. The process carried out in this research method is to collect data based on reality or facts in the field through in-depth interviews with informants and documentation. The data analysis technique used is interactive analysis with the following stages: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Meanwhile, the validity technique used is the source triangulation method, namely expert informants or expert informants. The conclusion that can be drawn from this research is that the enactment of the ITE Law article 28 paragraph (1) can have a sufficient effect on supporting the lives of Jakarta Public Relations students, especially in accessing Instagram social media.
