Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran humas dalam memberikan pelayanan publik pada Humas Polsek Makasar dan hambatan-hambatan dari pelaksanaan peran humas di Polsek Makasar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peran humas dalam memberikan pelayanan kepada masyarakat sekitar untuk mewujudkan hubungan yang baik antara Polsek dan publiknya dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi dengan narasumber sebanyak lima informan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori peran humas Dozier&Broom dalam Rusian. Temuan peneliti ini menjelaskan bahwa peran humas sudah cukup baik untuk menjalankan perannya sebagai Penasehat ahli, Fasilitator komunikasi, Fasilitator Proses Pemecahan Masalah dan Teknisi komunikasi dalam organisasi dan pelayanan publik. Dan humas Polsek Makasar menjalankan tugasnya sesuai dengan peranan dan fungsinya walaupun ada beberapa yang masih kurang seperti mendiagnosa suatu masalah, dan kurangnya transparan dengan publiknya. Kata Kunci : Pelayanan Publik, Humas, Polsek Makasar This study aims to determine the role of public relations in providing public services at the Makassar Police Sector Public Relations and the obstacles to implementing the public relations role at the Makassar Police Sector. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of public relations in providing services to the surrounding community to create a good relationship between the Polsek and the public with a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation with as many as five informants as resource persons. This study uses the theory of the role of Dozier & Broom public relations in Russia. The findings of this researcher explain that the role of public relations is good enough to carry out its roles as expert advisors, communication facilitators, problem solving process facilitators and communication technicians in organizations and public services. And the public relations of the Makassar Police Sector carry out their duties according to their roles and functions, although there are some that are still lacking, such as diagnosing a problem, and lack of transparency with the public.
