Abstract

Automotive industry in Indonesia increase rapidly, it become competitive between automotive industry include component automotive industry. One is the quality of the products that greatly affect the company's position in the competitive industry. Every company is required to have to conduct a rigorous examination of the quality of the product. The study was conducted in a company engaged in the manufacturing industry that serve painting of automotive components. The problems that often arise in the production floor, the finished product does not meet the standards, and reject ratio in production was 35% in October 2014. In this study to improve the quality of product it uses the concept of kaizen, seven tools in the production process and the analysis of the implementation of 5S, and standardization which can be applied in the factory floor. From the results obtained in the Pareto diagram visible damage occurs in the production, the greatest damage is the contamination of dust to the top coat by 39% and 44% to the paint masking. Factors that causing damage to the product is the human factor, the environment, and working methods. From the root cause of the problem that has been obtained then running to solve the root of the problem through the implementation of kaizen-PDCA in the workplace, so the obtained results of production reduction reject from 35% in October 2014 to 21% in December 2014. Keywords: Quality, Kaizen, PDCA, QC seven tools, 5S, Painting Perkembangan industri di bidang otomotif di Indonesia saat ini meningkat dengan sangat cepat. Perkembangan antar industri dan komponen pendukungnya ini memunculkan persaingan yang sangat kompetitif antar perusahaan. Salah satunya adalah kualitas produk yang sangat mempengaruhi kedudukan perusahaan dalam persaingan industri. Untuk menghadapi persaingan yang sangat ketat ini. Setiap perusahaan dituntut untuk perlu melakukan pemeriksaan yang ketat terhadap kualitas produk. Penelitian dilakukan di perusahaan yang bergerak dalam industri manufaktur yang memproduksi painting dari komponen otomotif. Permasalahan yang sering timbul di lantai produksi terutama di bagian pengolahan yaitu, produk jadi yang tidak memenuhi standar sebesar 35% pada bulan Oktober 2014. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan konsep kaizen, QC seven tools pada bagian proses produksi dan analisis penerapan 5S, serta standarisasi yang dapat diterapkan perusahaan di lantai pabrik. Dari hasil diperoleh pada pareto diagram terlihat kerusakan yang terjadi di bagian produksi kerusakan terbesar adalah adanya kontaminasi debu untuk proses top coat sebesar 39% dan masking paint sebesar 44%. Faktor penyebab terjadinya kerusakan pada produk adalah faktor manusia, lingkungan, dan metode kerja. Dari akar penyebab masalah yang telah didapatkan maka kemudian menjalankan perbaikan terhadap akar masalah melalui pelaksanaan kaizen-PDCA di tempat kerja, sehingga didapatkan hasil pengurangan reject produksi dari 35% pada bulan Oktober 2014 menjadi 21% pada bulan Desember 2014.
