Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a role for self-control on celebrity worship for idol fans. This study uses quantitative methods with simple regression analysis technique, sampling using convenience sampling technique. In this study, the sample collected 528 respondents attain the age of 18- 25 years. The measuring instrument used for self-control is the Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS), and for celebrity worship the Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS) is used. The results showed that there was no influence of self control on celebrities worshiping idol fans with a significance value of 0.247 (p > 0.05). Keyword: Early Adults, Celebrity Worship, Self Control, Idol Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada peran self control terhadap celebrity worship pada penggemar idol. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis regresi sederhana, pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Dalam penelitian ini, sampel berjumlah 528 responden dengan usia 18-25 tahun. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk self controladalah Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS), dan untuk celebrity worship menggunakan alat ukur Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS). Hasil penelitian menunujukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh self control terhadap celebrity worship pada penggemar idol dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,247 (p > 0,05).
