Abstract
This study aims to determine whether there are differences in intrasexual competition between men and women in early adulthood at the Faculty of Psychology Mercu Buana Regular 1 Meruya. The number of respondents in this study was 198 students or respondents. The measuring instrument used in this study is the intrasexual competition scale (ISC) from Buunk and Fisher (2009). The results of this study indicate that early adult men and women have the urge to compete intrasexually but with differences in behavior between men and women, which is shown in the T-testI table which shows the results of a significance value of 0.003 below 0.05, which means that means that there are differences between men and women. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan intrasexual competition antara laki-laki dan perempuan dewasa awal di Fakultas Psikologi Mercu Buana Reguler 1 Meruya. Adapun jumlah dari responden penelitian ini 198 mahasiswa atau responden. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah intrasexual competition scale (ISC) dari Buunk dan Fisher (2009). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan laki-laki dan perempuan dewasa awal memiliki dorongan untuk berkompetisi secara intraseksual tetapi dengan adanya perbedaan perilaku antara laki-laki dan perempuan, yang ditunjukkan pada tabel T-testI yang menunjukan hasil nilai signifikansi 0,003 dibawah 0,05, yang berarti adanya perbedaan antara laki-laki dan perempuan. Kata kunci: intrasexual competition, laki-laki, perempuan.
