Abstract

Control the quality of the content of coal in coal-fired power plants is one of the activities that must be carried out by companies in maintaining the quality of the resulting product. The amount of coal specification content that does not meet the standards will have an impact on production output. In this study focused on how the quality control process of coal in Lontar power plants is having problems on quality control exceeds the tolerance limits that are generally recognized in the amount of 5%. As a method of approach, then used methods and tools of six sigma quality consisting of check sheet, DPMO, Pareto diagrams, DOE. Based on the research conducted found that the discrepancy content specifications can be minimized by selecting the place of origin (Origin of Coal) and a combination of place of origin (Origin of Coal) with Type Company. By using the Six Sigma approach and concept design of experiments, the obtained condition where sigma level increased from 2.04 to 3.25 and obtained an optimal value of the coal quality control in the production plant with a gain saved about 778 310 687 kWh, equivalent to IDR . 788 310 687 000, - in one year. Keywords: Coal Quality, Six Sigma, Critical Factor, DOE Pengendalian kualitas content batubara pada pembangkit tenaga listrik tenaga uap merupakan salah satu aktivitas yang harus dilakukan oleh perusahaan didalam menjaga kualitas dari produk yang dihasilkan. Banyaknya content spesifikasi batubara yang tidak memenuhi standar akan berdampak pada output produksi. Pada penelitian ini terfokus pada bagaimana proses pengendalian kualitas batubara di PLTU Lontar yang mengalami masalah pada pengendalian kualitas melebihi batas toleransi yang secara umum diakui yaitu sebesar 5%. Sebagai pendekatan metode, maka digunakan metode six sigma dan tools of quality yang terdiri dari check sheet, DPMO, diagram pareto, DOE. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan maka didapatkan bahwa ketidaksesuaian content spesifikasi dapat diminimalisir dengan memilih place of origin (Asal Batubara) dan kombinasi antara place of origin (Asal Batubara) dengan Jenis Perusahaan. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan Six Sigma dan konsep design of eksperimen maka diperoleh kondisi dimana level sigma meningkat dari 2,04 menjadi 3,25 dan diperoleh suatu nilai optimal dari pengendalian kualitas batubara di PLTU Lontar dengan gain produksi terselamatkan sekitar 778.310.687 kWH atau setara dengan Rp. 788.310.687.000,- dalam satu tahun.
