Abstract

ABSTRACT Each student is always dreaming graduated on time, from statistic data Effectivity Education Rate (EER) the Department of Psychology at Mercu Buana University Jakarta showed that the graduation rate of students majoring in psychology was below the average percentage of graduation rates for Mercu Buana University Jakarta students in general. From several factor influenced the graduation rate for students, grit could be one of the important factors causing the percentage of EER, so this study designed to see a descriptive figure the difference of grit level among students majoring in Psychology, Mercu Buana University Jakarta. Grit is a combination of passion and perseverance to achieve the goals, in this study related with the graduation rate of students majoring in psychology. The 146 respondents in this study consisted of 30 men and 116 women. The sampling technique was convenience sampling through a google form questionnaire which was distributed to students majoring in psychology at Mercu Buana University, Jakarta. The data collected was processed using One-way ANOVA for comparing mean. The results of the study show that there was difference in grit in students related to work status and there was no difference in grit in other aspects being compared. The results showed the highest mean 3.6 and after compared with Duckworth samples, it was 40% the lowest of all the Duckworth samples mean. Keywords: Descriptive, Grit, Student, Psychology, Graduated ABSTRAK Lulus tepat waktu merupakan idaman setiap mahasiswa/i, namun dari data AEE Jurusan Psikologi Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kelulusan Mahasiswa/i jurusan psikologi di bawah persentase rata rata tingkat kelulusan mahasiswa Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta secara umum. Grit/Ketabahan bisa menjadi salah satu faktor penyebab rendahnya persentase AEE ini, oleh karena penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran perbedaan grit pada mahasiswa/i jurusan Psikologi Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta. Grit merupakan kombinasi dari Hasrat dan ketekunan untuk mencapai tujuan yang telah ditetapkan dalam hal ini adalah kelulusan tepat waktu mahasiswa/i jurusan psikologi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 146 yang terdiri dari 30 laki laki dan 116 perempuan, Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan convenience sampling melalui kuesioner google form yang disebarkan kepada mahasiswa jurusan psikologi Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta. Data yang dikumpulkan diolah dengan one-way Anova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan grit pada mahasiswa/i yang berkaitan dengan status bekerja dan tidak ada perbedaan grit pada aspek lainnya yang diperbandingkan. Dari hasil kategorisasi mean diperoleh kategori tertinggi memiliki mean 3.6, di mana apabila dibandingkan dengan mean hasil penelitian Duckworth, maka nilai ini mengacu pada 40% mean terendah dari sampel yang diteliti Duckworth.
