Abstract

This study aims to find out how the picture of resilience in the first wife who is polygamous. This study uses a qualitative research design by exploring information about the resilience of wives who experience polygamy with a total of 5 participants. The data collection technique used was interviews and assisted by research tools such as interview guidelines, informed consent, and recorders. The triangulation used in this research is source triangulation. Resilience is needed for wives whose husbands are polygamous to live a life of stress, difficult choices and other considerations to maintain a marriage. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the five subjects believed that God would help them through the trials they faced. In addition, it also shows that all wives need a place to tell stories to reduce the fatigue of the mind. The five subjects had a relatively low education so that there was still economic dependence with their husbands and low income. The five subjects also have in common maintaining marriages because they think about the future of their children. The difference lies in the husband's reason for polygamy. Keywords: Marriage, Polygamy, Resiliance Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mengetahui bagaimana gambaran resiliensi pada istri pertama yang dipoligami. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif dengan menggali informasi mengenai resiliensi pada istri yang mengalami poligami dengan jumlah partisipan sebanyak 5 subjek. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara dan dibantu alat penelitian seperti pedoman wawancara, informed consent, dan recorder. Triangulasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Resiliensi dibutuhkan untuk para istri yang dipoligami suaminya untuk menjalani kehidupan dengan keadaan tertekan, pilihan yang sulit dan pertimbangan lainnya untuk mempertahankan pernikahan. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kelima subjek mempercayai bahwa Tuhan akan membantu melewati cobaan yang dihadapi. Selain itu juga menunjukkan bahwa semua istri membutuhkan tempat bercerita untuk mengurangi rasa penat pikiran. Kelima subjek memiliki pendidikan yang tergolong rendah sehingga masih adanya ketergantungan ekonomi dengan suami dan penghasilan yang sedikit. Kelima subjek juga memiliki kesamaan mempertahankan pernikaahn karena memikirkan masa depan anak. Perbedaan terletak pada alasan suami melakukan poligami. Keywords: Pernikahan, Poligami, Resiliensi
