Abstract

Psychological well-being is a topic that is widely studied, but research on psychological well-being in single mothers has not received much attention. This study aims to determine the role of social support on psychological well-being in single mothers in early adulthood. A total of 113 research samples were obtained through accidental sampling technique with criteria for single mothers in early adulthood (N = 113, mean = 30.41, SD = 5,436) having children and divorced status. The measuring tools used for the social support scale are the social support F-sozU short version developed by Kliem (2015) and the Ryff psychological well-being scale developed by Abbott (2010). The method used is simple regression analysis. The results of data analysis show that there is a positive role of social support on psychological well-being with a significance value of 0.000 and a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.275 with a percentage of 27.5%. These results indicate that social support plays a role of 27.5% on the psychological well-being of single mothers who are divorced in early adulthood. There needs to be an effort from the family, community and government to support the achievement of the psychological well-being of divorced single mothers. Kesejahteraan psikologis merupakan topik yang banyak diteliti, namun penelitian kesejahteraan psikologis pada ibu tunggal belum mendapat banyak perhatian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan dukungan sosial terhadap kesejahteraan psikologis pada ibu tunggal yang bercerai di usia dewasa awal. Sebanyak 113 sampel penelitian diperoleh melalui teknik accidental sampling dengan kriteria ibu tunggal usia dewasa awal (N=113, mean=30,41, SD=5.436) memiliki anak dan berstatus cerai hidup. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk skala dukungan sosial adalah social support F-sozU short version yang dikembangkan oleh Kliem (2015) dan alat ukur kesejahteraan psikologis psychological well-being scale Ryff yang dikembangkan oleh Abbott (2010). Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi sederhana. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya peranan positif dukungan sosial terhadap kesejahteraan psikologis dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 dan nilai koefisien determinasi (R2) sebesar 0,275 dengan persentase sebesar 27,5%. Hasil tersebut menunjukan bahwa dukungan sosial berperan sebesar 27,5% terhadap kesejahteraan psikologis ibu tunggal yang bercerai di usia dewasa awal. Perlu adanya upaya dari keluarga, masyarakat dan pemerintah untuk mendukung tercapainya kesejahteraan psikologis ibu tunggal yang bercerai.
