Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between loneliness and intersexual competition among users of the Tinder application. This research method uses quantitative methods through correlation models and non-probability sampling techniques to 160 respondents who have criteria for research subjects, namely active users of the Tinder application. The distribution of questionnaire data was carried out online using Google Form through social media such as Instragram and Whatsapp Group, while data analysis was carried out using the Pearson Product Moment correlation coefficient. The results of research on Tinder application users show that there is a significant relationship between loneliness and intersexual competition which has a positive direction and is moderately correlated, meaning that the higher the level of loneliness, the higher the level of intersexual competition. Ha in this study was accepted because Sig (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05 and the value of the correlation coefficient r = 0.677 which explains that there is a positive correlation or relationship between loneliness and intersexual competition in Tinder application users. Keywords: Loneliness, Competition Intrasexual, Dating App, App Tinder Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kesepian dengan kompetisi intraseksual pada pengguna aplikasi Tinder. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif melalui model korelasi dan teknik non-probability sampling kepada 160 responden yang memiliki kriteria subjek penelitian yaitu pengguna aktif aplikasi Tinder. Penyebaran data kuesioner dilakukan secara online menggunakan Google Form melalui sosial media seperti Instragram dan Whatsapp Group, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan dengan koefisien korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian terhadap pengguna aplikasi Tinder menunjukan bahwa adanya hubungan signifikan antara kesepian dengan kompetisi intraseksual yang memiliki arah positif dan berkorelasi sedang dengan artinya semakin tinggi tingkat kesepian maka semakin tinggi tingkat kompetisi intraseksual. Ha dalam penelitian ini diterima karena Sig (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05 dan nilai koefisien korelasi r =0.677 yang menjelaskan bahwa adanya korelasi atau hubungan yang positif antara kesepian dengan kompetisi intraseksual pada pengguna aplikasi Tinder.
