Abstract

The more growth and development of a company, the more data is stored. To store data that will increase, the number of servers that are owned will also increase. How to maintain the security of internal data, the company prefers to have private servers placed in various branch locations. To manage the increasing number of servers, a company has several system administrators or sysadmins. The sysadmin's job is to monitor server performance and health. Sysadmins are not only tasked with monitoring server performance and health, but are required to report server performance and health history to the company, on the other hand this server performance and health history is useful for sysadmins to troubleshoot. At this writing, the author builds a server monitoring system that utilizes several functions of the Cacti application and integrates it with the Telegram application in the form of Telegram Bot notifications. The purpose of this application is to help a sysadmin work in monitoring, recording, and reporting on the performance and health of all servers in one. With this, the sysadmin can monitor the server and report it anywhere and anytime. Keywords: Server, Monitoring, Notification, Telegram Bot, Sysadmin Semakin tumbuh dan berkembangnya sebuah perusahaan semakin banyak pula data yang disimpan. Teknologi yang semakin canggih mendorong sebuah perusahaan untuk mengimbanginya, terutama dalam bidang penyimpanan data. Untuk menyimpan data yang akan bertambah, semakin bertambah pula jumlah server yang dimiliki. Sebagai cara menjaga keamanan data internal maka perusahaan lebih memilih memiliki server pribadi yang diletakan diberbagai lokasi cabang. Untuk mengelola jumlah server yang semakin banyak sebuah perusahaan memiliki beberapa system administrator atau sysadmin. Tugas dari sysadmin adalah memantau performansi dan kesehatan server setiap hari agar server berfungsi dengan baik. Namun pada kenyataannya untuk memantau performansi jumlah server yang banyak akan membuat sysadmin kewalahan. Apalagi sysadmin tidak hanya bertugas memantau performansi dan kesehatan server saja, melainkan diwajibkan untuk melaporkan riwayat performansi dan kesehatan server kepada perusahaan, disisi lain riwayat peformansi dan kesehatan server ini berguna bagi sysadmin untuk melakukan troubleshoot. Pada penulisan ini, penulis membangun sebuah sistem monitoring server yang memanfaatkan beberapa fungsi dari aplikasi Cacti dan mengintegrasikan dengan aplikasi Telegram dalam bentuk notifikasi Bot Telegram. Tujuan dibangunnya aplikasi ini adalah untuk membantu pekerjaan seorang sysadmin dalam memantau, mencatat, dan melaporkan performansi serta kesehatan seluruh server menjadi satu. Dengan ini sysadmin dapat melakukan pemantauan server dan melaporkannya dimanapun dan kapanpun. Kata kunci: Server, Monitoring, Notifikasi, Telegram Bot, Sysadmin
