Abstract
This study aims to discover depiction of psychological well-being on early adult women with polygamous parents. The respondents in this research amounted to 3 people of early adult women aged 18 to 30 years with a polygamous father. A research method that was applied to this study is descriptive type of qualitative research with phenomonological approach. This study collected data by observation and interview under interview guidelines. The validity of the data is obtained from significant others. Polygamy phenomenon that is happening in the society generating diverse impacts on young-adult psychological well-being unto various experience. From the research that has been done, it shows that all three of the subjects has dissimilar depiction of psychological well-being. However, there was found common dimension on all of them, those were purpose of life and personal growth. Among the three subjects, only ‘BF’ that had a good quality of psychological well-being because she was able to fulfill positive criteria in positive communication with other people, autonomy, purpose of life, and self-growth. Key words: psychological well-being, polygamy, early adult. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran psychological well-being pada wanita dewasa awal dengan orang tua yang berpoligami. Responden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 3 orang yang merupakan wanita dewasa awal berusia 18-30 tahun dengan kondisi ayah berpoligami. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif tipe deskriptif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi dan wawancara dengan pedoman wawancara. Keabsahan data didapatkan dari significant others. Fenomena poligami yang terjadi di masyarakat menimbulkan dampak yang beragam pada kesejahteraan psikologis anak usia dewasa awal hingga berbagai pengalaman yang dirasakan. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukan hasil bahwa ketiga subjek memiliki gambaran psychological well-being yang bervariasi. Namun terdapat persamaan dimensi pada ketiga subjek yaitu dimensi tujuan hidup dan pertumbuhan pribadi. Diantara ketiga subjek, hanya subjek BF yang memiliki kualitas psychological well-being yang baik karena mampu memenuhi kriteria positif dalam dimensi hubungan positif dengan orang lain, otonomi, tujuan hidup, dan pertumbuhan pribadi.
