Abstract

PT. ADM merupakan produsen industri otomotif yang membuat komponen kendaraan roda empat, sekarang di dept. Design Engineering PT. ADM sedang membuat salah satu komponen kendaraan roda empat pada bagian interior part yaitu Cover Steering pada model X40. hingga saat ini pembuatan cover steering sampai pada stage production preparation. Pada proses trial pencetakaan pertama terdapat beberapa defect dari hasil visual check yang dilakukan terdapat 30 defect teridentifikasi defect yang terjadi pada cover steering model X40. Defect paling dominan adalah flashing dengan 8 defect dari visual chek dari 3 pcs sample part, sedangkan target untuk dilakukannya proses selanjutnya kualitas part harus meningkat dari kondisi sekarang. Karena permasalahan tersebut maka dilakukan improvement pada part coversteering X40 menggunakan metode PDCA dan 5W1H dengan target adanya penurunan defect dari sebelumnya. Pada penelitian ini penulis mengggunakan metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif untuk pengolahan data yang ada. Setelah dilakukan proses improvement terdapat tiga faktor penyebab yang di dapat dari diagram fishbone (man, machine, method) setelah dilakukan penanggulangan permasalahaan dari tiga faktor penyebab hasil akhir yang didapatkan oleh penulis defect part pada cover steering mengalami penurunan dari 30 menjadi 6 total defect teridentifikasi setelah dilakukan visual check dari 3 pcs sample part pada proses trial pencetakan kedua. Dengan begitu kualitas dari cover steering mengalami peningkatan sebesar 80% dari sebelumnya. ADM is an automotive industry manufacturer that makes four-wheeled vehicle components, now in the dept. Design Engineering PT. ADM is making one of the components of a four-wheeled vehicle in the interior part of the Cover Steering on the X40 model. until now the manufacture of cover steering up to the stage production preparation. In the first injection trial process, there were several defects from the results of visual check conducted, there were 30 identified defects that occurred on the X40 model steering cover. The most dominant defect is flashing with 8 defects from the visual check of 3 pcs of sample parts, while the target for further processing of the quality of parts must be improved from the present condition. Because of these problems, improvements were made to the X40 steering cover part using the PDCA and 5W1H methods with the target of reducing defects from before. In this study the authors used quantitative and qualitative methods for processing existing data. After the improvement process, there are three factors that can be obtained from the fishbone diagram (man, machine, method) after overcoming the problem of the three factors causing the final results obtained by the author of the defect part on the cover steering has decreased from 30 to 6 the total defects identified after A visual check of 3 pcs of the sample parts was made during the second injection trial process.
