Abstract

In this era of globalization where business competition gets more competitive and more tight, of course only company that can have high productivity, by reducing or eliminating waste-waste along the production line. The success of Japanese companies, like Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and others because they have a culture of discipline or work ethic that is 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke). Not a few companies in Indonesia, which later failed in implementing 5S and not a little too successfully implement 5S. The purpose of this study is to determine the position of the 5S culture and contribution to increasing productivity 5S PT JCC, Tbk for five years of implementing 5S. The research method used is the method disseminated premises using quota sampling technique in the production department. After the processing of survey data, the result shows that the culture of 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke) in PT JCC, Tbk has reached 77.76% and from statistical analysis to test the hypothesis that the correlation between the Cultural Productivity 5S with a direction positive with a strong and significant ties, rxy values for 0619 (> 0.5 to 0.75, strong correlation), determinant coefficient (r2) of 0.383 or 38.3%, meaning that the culture of 5S in PT JCC, Tbk contributed to the increase in productivity equal to 38.3%. Keywords: 5S; Productivity. Dalam era globalisasi dimana persaingan bisnis semakin kompetitif dan semakin ketat, tentunya hanya perusahaan yang mampu memiliki produktivitas yang tinggi, dengan cara mengurangi bahkan menghilangkan pemborosan-pemborosan sepanjang jalur produksi. Keberhasilan perusahaan-perusahaan Jepang, Seperti Toyota, Honda, Nissan, dan yang lainnya karena mereka punya budaya atau etos kerja yang disiplin yaitu 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke). Tidak sedikit perusahaan-perusahaan di Indonesia yang kemudian gagal dalam menerapkan 5S dan tidak sedikit juga yang berhasil menerapkan 5S. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui posisi budaya 5S dan kontribusi 5S terhadap peningkatan produktivitas PT JCC, Tbk selama lima tahun menerapkan budaya 5S. Metoda penelitian yang digunakan adalah metoda yang disebar denga menggunakan teknik quota sampling di departemen produksi. Setelah dilakukan pengolahan data hasil survei, didapatkan hasil bahwa budaya 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke) di PT JCC, Tbk sudah mencapai 77,76% dan dari analisis statistik dengan uji hipotesis yaitu korelasi antara Budaya 5S dengan Produktivitas memiliki arah yang positif dengan ikatan yang kuat dan signifikan, nilai Rxy sebesar 0.619 ( > 0,5 – 0,75, korelasi kuat), koefisien determinannya (r2 ) sebesar 0,383 atau 38,3%, berarti bahwa budaya 5S di PT JCC, Tbk memberikan kontribusi terhadap peningkatan produktivitas sebesar 38,3%.
