Abstract

The quality of products is a very important aspect for the survival of a company. In line with technological developments and hence a company is required to perform a strategy to improve the effectiveness and efficiency do to lower production costs and reduce product failure. Failure and defective products have an enormous influence on the profitability and and production costs. Defective products will lead to increased production costs and increased rework costs. To overcome this we need a control and strict control at every process so that products are produced guaranteed quality and quantity, in addition to the necessary innovations in the field of technology and competitive strategy to improve quality and customer satisfaction, it is not easy to achieve but requires continuous improvement and continuously. PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk is a company engaged in the automotive field that produces radial tires for passenger vehicles (Passenger Car) Commercial Vehicles (trucks and buses), offroad, both for the local market as well as International market. Products that produced them Champiro Winter Pro, Champiro ECO, Champiro HPY, Maxmiller CX, Variation products are huge numbers and have increased in every year it adjust to market demand. This thesis analyzes in Pt. Tbk single elephant, to reduce miss cure defects using Six Sigma methods, beginning with define, measurement, analysis, improvement and control. This study is a qualitative research, the study concluded that the main cause of deffect miss cure to product quality tire is affected by mold no close and mold no open, the analysis results DMAIC shows the company currently at the level of sigma 4.2 after doing improvement increased to 4.9 level sigma. Kualitas produk merupakan aspek yang sangat penting demi kelangsungan hidup suatu perusahaan. Sejalan dengan perkembangan dan teknologi maka suatu perusahaan dituntut untuk melakukan strategi dalam meningkatkan efektivitas dan melakukan efesiensi untuk menurunkan biaya produksi dan mengurangi kegagalan produknya. Kegagalan dan cacat produk mempunyai pengaruh yang sangat besar terhadap keuntungan dan dan biaya produksi. Produk yang cacat akan menyebabkan cost produksi bertambah dan biaya rework meningkat. Untuk mengatasi hal ini diperlukan suatu pengendalian dan kontrol yang ketat pada setiap prosesnya sehingga produk yang di hasilkan terjamin kualitasnya dan kuantitasnya, disamping itu perlu dilakukan inovasi di bidang teknologi dan strategi bersaing untuk meningkatkan mutu dan kepuasan pelanggan, hal ini tidaklah mudah untuk mencapainya tetapi memerlukan perbaikan yang berkesinambungan dan terus menerus. PT. Gajah Tunggal tbk adalah sebuah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang otomotif yaitu memproduksi ban Radial untuk kendaraan Penumpang (Passanger Car), Kendaraan Niaga (Truk dan Bus), offroad, baik untuk lokal market maupun International market. Produk yang yang dihasilkan diantaranya Champiro Winter Pro, Champiro ECO, Champiro HPY, Maxmiller CX, Variasi produk jumlahnya sangat banyak dan mengalami peningkatan dalam setiap tahunnya hal ini menyesuaikan dengan permintaan pasar. Tesis ini melakukan analisa di Pt. Gajah tunggal tbk, untuk mengurangi cacat miss cure menggunakan metode Six Sigma, dimulai dengan define, measurement, analysis, improvement dan control. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penyebab utama terjadinya deffect miss cure terhadap kualitas produk tire dipengaruhi oleh mold no close dan mold no open, hasil analisis DMAIC menunjukkan saat ini perusahaan berada pada level sigma 4.2 setelah di lakukan improvement meningkat menjadi 4.9 level sigma.
