Abstract

A production process will go smoothly if it is supported by adequate equipment and facilities. The equipment used during the production process will experience a decline in function that eventually led to a breakdown after being used for a time period resulting in losses (losses) in the form of time and production.To know and to minimize the losses that occur, there needs to evaluate the performance of the production equipment. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is a method of measuring the effectiveness of the use of an equipment / machinery. OEE is known as one of the application programs Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) that can identify losses that occurred (known as the six big losses). Currently in the process of Spinning and Take Up Machine 7 Polyester Filament Yarn Factory PT Indonesia Toray Synthetics (PT ITS) Tangerang as one of the biggest producers of undrawn yarn at the company has a problem that has not been revealed clearly. This resulted in the use of equipment that is not optimal. Disclosure root of the problem and the cause factors is needed before companies doing business improvements. The study began by measuring the achievement of OEE value in the year 2014 and through the pareto analysis of the measurement results obtained root causes and contributing factors are clearly displayed on an analysis using why analysis and apply it as an improvement to increase the efficiency of the Spinning and Take Up Machine 7. Keywords: Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Pareto, Six Big Losses, TPM, Why Analysis Suatu proses produksi akan berjalan dengan lancar jika didukung dengan peralatan dan fasilitas yang memadai. Peralatan yang digunakan selama proses produksi akan mengalami penurunan fungsi yang akhirnya menyebabkan sebuah kerusakan setelah digunakan pada periode waktu tertentu sehingga menghasilkan losses (kerugian) berupa waktu dan hasil produksi. Untuk mengetahui dan meminimumkan losses yang terjadi, diperlukan adanya evaluasi kinerja dari peralatan produksi. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) adalah metode pengukuran efektivitas penggunaan suatu peralatan/mesin. OEE dikenal sebagai salah satu aplikasi progam Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) yang dapat mengidentifikasikan losses yang terjadi (dikenal dengan six big losses). Saat ini proses pada Spinning and Take Up Machine 7 Polyester Filament Yarn Factory PT Indonesia Toray Synthetics (PT ITS) Tangerang sebagai salah satu penghasil undrawn yarn terbesar pada perusahaan tersebut memiliki permasalahan yang belum terungkap dengan jelas. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan penggunaan peralatan yang ada belum optimal. Pengungkapan akar masalah dan faktor penyebabnya diperlukan sebelum perusahaan melakukan usaha perbaikan. Penelitian ini dimulai dengan mengukur pencapaian nilai OEE dalam satu tahun 2014 dan melalui analisis pareto terhadap hasil pengukuran tersebut diperoleh akar permasalahan dan faktor penyebabnya yang secara jelas ditampilkan pada sebuah analisa dengan menggunakan why analysis dan menerapkannya sebagai improvement untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pada Spinning and Take Up Machine 7.
