Abstract

A growth of Automotive Industry in Asia, especially Indonesia in a decade make this country become investment destination from Japan. One of them is PT. TJForge Indonesia the biggest component manufacturing in Japan make its manufacture in Indonesia. To increase the competitiveness the company have to increase their performance for producing high quality, minimum cost and good delivery. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is used by the company to measure their effectiveness of production. The company have been measure their performance using OEE since January 2015. The OEE is very low. This thesis is used to make an analysis and improvement to increase OEE. It is found that the OEE is not achieved because the availability, performance and quality rate are low. It is caused by machine and mould downtime. The company have to make a countermeasure for increasing OEE. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is an alternative to overcome from the problem. TPM basic are 5S, Preventive Maintenance and Continues Improvement. One of the improvement is spare part stock control to improve availability. The other one is 5S implementation by improve production facility to increase performance. The implementation of TPM can make the effectiveness up from in 2016. The company can save a cost. This thesis have two improvement plan to improve OEE achievement at the future. There are reducing mould set up by SMED (Single Minute Exchange Die) method to improve availability and reducing speed losses by increase operator competency to improve performance.
