Abstract
The main aim of this research is to predict the bancruptcy of Indonesia’s State- Owned Enterprises concerned in transportation sector. The data is collected from the financial reports of several companies in the year of 2009 to 2013. To analyze the companies’ financial reports, the Altman Z-Score and Springate instrument analysis is used. Altman Z-Score uses 5 (five) financial ratio which are consisted of working capital to total assets (X1), retained earnings to assets (X2), earnings before interest and tax to assets (X3), equity to leverage (X4) and sales to total assets (X5). On the other hand, Springate method uses 4 (four) financial ratio which are consisted of working capital to total assets (A), earnings before interest and Tax to total assets (B), earning before tax to current debt (C) and sales to total assets (D). The result of Altman Z-Score method shows that there is only one State-Owned Enterprises that on good health level, 4 (four) are in the grey area and 3 (three) enterprises have a potential to go bankrupt. In addition, the result of Springate method shows that 3 (three) State-Owned Enterprises on good health level, 2 (two) have small possibility to fail and 3 (three) enterprises are highly potential to heavily damaged bankruptcy.
