Abstract
To face the global and regional market, company must have a high competitiveness especially in quality aspects. PT. Simba Indosnack Makmur is one of company which produce cereal and snack and selling their products in local and export market. The company's revenue contribution of exports amounted to 40% of total revenue, and has contribution of margin between 40- 50%. Compared to products which its selling on the local market, only has contribution of margin between 25-30%. The presence of defective products during production at process moulding causes the production process is not smooth. Sort out of product manually is needed to avoid product defect going to the next step of production. The sorting activity causes additional cost such as labor cost and give rise to waste product due to the unoptimal of usage of materials. Focus of the research is to identify the factors causing defect rate of Base Rice Wheels and doing improvement of quality using five stages of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) Six Sigma. Integration of TRIZ method in the Analyze phase to obtain the ideal of problem solving. The findings in this research indicates that there are two combination of factors that can be reduce the defect of product i.e set up the parameter of machine and the water content of rice. DPMO decreased from 28021 become to 5505, and sigma level increased from 3,41 become to 4,07 Keywords: Quality, Quality Improvement, DMAIC, Six Sigma, TRIZ
