Abstract

Along with the increasing levels of competition in the cement industry, the performance of a factory increasingly essential. Performance of a plant will be highly dependent on the reliability of the equipment / machinery used to transform raw materials into products. So that at any time the tool is needed to produce, it will always be available from time to time. Such conditions can occur if the system of care / maintenance have the right strategy. Therefore, to analyze effektifitas level of maintenance strategy that has been applied by looking at the performance generated by the equipment manufacturer, identify possible improvements to the approach system maintenance TPM and Lean Six Sigma and provide Improvement suggestions to improve plant performance through maintenance activities. In this study the performance measurement process using OEE, Availability, Performance Rate and Quality Index and MTBF which is an indicator of the performance of TPM, but using DMAIC flow in defining, measuring, analyzing and improving and controlling the performance improvement process. and using the Lean concept in which there is the concept of TPM and 5S. In accordance with the purposes of this study, the effectiveness of the maintenance strategy that has been implemented is quite effective look of achievement OEE value that indicates a pretty good performance with OEE Kiln Nar 1 and OEE Kiln Nar 2. But there are still opportunities for improvement in the increase of MTBF. Monitoring results of MTBF already showed a positive trend. From the analysis results can be obtained by the proposed improvements to improve plant performance through maintenance activities, among others, to perform Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, 5S implementation, increasing the role of the Department through the Autonomous Maintenance production and maintenance employees Multi skill. Given the limited time and resources, so that there are many tools of Lean Six Sigma tools are not used in this study, such as Value Stream Mapping and Waste elimination program, so further research is needed more enriched in systems analysis and identification of an idea - the idea of improvement by using the tools more varied.
