Abstract

PT HI is a manufacturing company engaged in the field of automotive components in Indonesia, which produce control cable. One of the products that will be done in the research is the type of seat control cable products because there is a policy of top management in terms of the 2015 Business Plan based on the customer's demand to conduct a cost reduction. Improvement done to achieve these objectives,by increasing productivity and to analyze the condition of man power, and takt time seat control cable products. From the analysis shows some changes were made such as the incorporation of elements of work that have an impact on the reduction of man power in the assembly line, and perform improvement, the machine supports the work and repair work system, and the design of a new assembly line layout to reduce the mobility of man power. Seat control cable process comprising of 3 parts assembly, which first processes the outer sub assy 6 man power, with sub assy inner 8 man power then assembly line with a 5 man power, a total of 19 man power, of this study a reduction in man power 15 so that the process of assembly line only 4 man power. The method is performed to simulate yamazumi charts, to combine all the elements working in the assembly line type U with some changes machine.So to keep the process running well done on the process flow diagram and sequence of work, takt time, cycle time, payback period Keywords: improvement, man power, yamazumi charts, assembly line layout.
