Abstract

This study aims to analyze and obtain empirical evidence about the influence of company size, financial leverage and net profit margins on income smoothing manufacturing companies in the food and beverage sub sector. The population in this study are food and beverage sub-sector manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The purposive sampling method was used in this study to obtain 16 companies with five years of observation (2013-2017). Data obtained through the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) www.idx.co.id is a type of secondary data. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistical analysis test, classic assumption test, hypothesis test and model feasibility test. From the results of this study indicate that financial leverage and net profit margins do not significantly influence income smoothing manufacturing companies in the food and beverage sub sector. While the size of the company has a significant effect on income smoothing manufacturing companies in the food and beverage sub-sector. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan memperoleh bukti empiris mengenai pengaruh ukuran perusahaan, financial leverage dan net profit margin terhadap perataan laba perusahaan manufaktur sub sektor makanan dan minuman. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan manufaktur sub sektor makanan dan minuman yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). Digunakan metode purposive sampling dalam penelitian ini sehingga diperoleh 16 perusahaan dengan lima tahun pengamatan (2013-2017). Data yang diperoleh melalui website resmi Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) www.idx.co.id merupakan jenis data sekunder. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji analisis statistik deskriptif, uji asumsi klasik, uji hipotesis dan uji kelayakan model. Dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa financial leverage dan net profit margin tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perataan laba perusahaan manufaktur sub sektor makanan dan minuman. Sedangkan ukuran perusahaan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perataan laba perusahaan manufaktur sub sektor makanan dan minuman.
