Abstract

This study aims to compare the level of intimacy among married couples through dating and ta'aruf process in Jakarta. Intimacy is one of the dimensions of love, which is a feeling that fosters closeness, bonding, and connection which involves the desire to give, receive, and share one's innermost thoughts with others. This study used a quantitative research design with 166 respondents. The analytical method used in this study is the Mann Whitney U test. The calculation results obtained a significance value (p) of 0.00 <0.05, this shows that there are differences in the level of intimacy between couples who marry through dating and ta'aruf process. The results of the SPSS 20 for Windows statistical test show that intimacy in dating couples has a mean rank value of 71.13, while couples who are married through the ta'aruf process are 101.33, which means that the level of intimacy in couples who are married through the ta'aruf process is higher than couples who married through dating process. Keywords: Intimacy, Dating, Ta’aruf Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan tingkat intimacy pada pasangan yang menikah melalui proses berpacaran dan ta’aruf di Jakarta. Intimacy merupakan salah satu dimensi cinta, yaitu perasaan yang menumbuhkan kedekatan, ikatan, dan keterhubungan yang melibatkan keinginan untuk memberi dan menerima serta membagi suatu pikiran terdalam seseorang kepada orang lain. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 166 orang. Metode analisis yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah uji U Mann Whitney. Hasil perhitungan memperoleh nilai signifikansi (p) sebesar 0.00 < 0.05, hal ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan tingkat intimacy pada pasangan yang menikah melalui proses berpacaran dan ta’aruf. Hasil uji statistik SPSS 20 for Windows menunjukan bahwa intimacy pada pasangan berpacaran memiliki nilai mean rank sebesar 71.13, sedangkan pada pasangan yang menikah melalui proses ta’aruf sebesar 101.33 yang berarti tingkat intimacy pada pasangan yang menikah melalui proses ta’aruf lebih tinggi daripada pasangan yang menikah melalui proses berpacaran.
