Abstract
Museum in Jakarta experienced an increase in visitors. Museum managers are competent to support the excellent service provided to visitors. The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the factors of management competence museums in Jakarta. Museum managers are the people who work in the museum so that the need for a competency in supporting the task manager of the museum. Competence manager of the museum consists of the skills, attitudes and education. Skills manager of the museum consists of service, communication, guidance. The attitudes manager of the museum consists of friendly, flexible, creative, loves her job and professional. Educational background museum managers tailored to the needs of the museum as museum logy, sociology, anthropology, history, language. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using a pilot study that is allowed to be continued by other researchers to increase the sample not only in Jakarta alone and classify competence museum managers by type of museum. This study is also expected to provide the decision maker to enter in determining the policy of the museum management competency standards in Indonesia. Keywords : competency, museum Museum di DKI Jakarta mengalami peningkatan pengunjung. Pengelola museum yang kompeten mendukung pelayanan prima yang diberikan kepada pengunjung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis factor-faktor kompetensi pengelola museum yang ada di DKI Jakarta. Pengelola museum merupakan orang-orang yang bekerja di museum sehingga perlu adanya suatu kompetensi dalam mendukung tugas pengelola museum. Kompetensi pengelola museum terdiri dari keterampilan, sikap dan pendidikan. Keterampilan pengelola museum terdiri dari pelayanan, komunikasi, pemandu. Sikap yang dimiliki pengelola museum terdiri dari ramah, fleksibel, kreatif, mencintai pekerjaannya dan professional. Latar belakang pendidikan pengelola museum disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan museum seperti musiologi, sosiologi, antropologi, sejarah, bahasa. Penelitian ini merupakan kualitatif deskriptif menggunakan pilot study sehingga penelitian ini memungkinkan untuk dilanjutkan kembali oleh peneliti lain dengan menambah sampel tidak hanya di DKI Jakarta saja dan mengklasifikasikan kompetensi pengelola museum berdasarkan jenis museum. Penelitian ini juga diharapkan mampu memberikan masukkan kepada decision maker dalam menentukan kebijakkan dalam standar kompetensi pengelola museum yang ada di Indonesia.
