Abstract

This research is proposed because of massiveness of terrorism case on behalf of religious motive and more militant, this research is conducted to know the self concept construction trough mind scheme analyze to understand the meaning of Jihad and Terrorism Act by qualitative approach in sociopsychology paradigm (constructivism) which pointed at understanding towards construction process of human mind understanding and behavior from point of view of research subject through interpersonal and intrapersonal communicaton of one suspect terrorism case, PM. Using the George Herbert Mead interactionisme symbolic theory which suitable with Ronald B Adler and Neil Towne thought, and by the schematic assistance of Johari Window to analyze the life experience of research subject PM, who is one of terrorism case suspect. Using the case study research method and data collecting technic by in depth unstructured interview.This study is an internally self concept study which the analyzation pursue to form propositions suit with cases studied with research type is explorative descriptive and the goal is describe the mind scheme of PM deeply of her comprehension about the meaning of Jihad and terrorism act in term of interpersonal communication context. The resulf of research is not able to be generalized to all another terrorism case suspect. The result of this research shows that Self concept of PM change after she wore the fully hijab covering her body and married SA. Some show that if PM has indication of negative self concept when explore her comprehensive of the meaning of jihad and terrorism act which resist her interpersonal communication, and while she was communicated, she tend to disguise her personal area in terms of her comprehension of the meaning of jihad and terrorism act. With interactionisme symbolic perspective, PM can be summarized there are relation between self concept theory and mind scheme of PM in term of comprehension of the meaning of jihad and terrorism act on her self disclosure and identification of perception about her private / perceived self, presenting self and desired self. PM self concept has be found dominantly if PM was not openly interact about all her self area to others except for her husband, SA. PM avoid openly dialogue with others from her outside community (thogut), PM close her self area in term of her comprehension of the meaning of jihad and terrorism act by impression management while she presenting herself in front of public, family and or neighbor. Beside PM self concept in term of perceived self has found that PM disguises her self area to avoid the concerning other to her comprehension about the meaning of jihad and terrorism act. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh semakin merebaknya kasus terorisme dilatarbelakangi agama yang semakin militan, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konstruksi konsep diri melalui analisa skema pemikiran dalam memahami makna jihad dan aksi terorisme berdasarkan pendekatan kualitatif dalam paradigma sociopsikologis (kostruktivis) yang memusatkan perhatian kepada proses terbentuknya pemahaman pemikiran dan perilaku manusia dari sudut pandang subjek penelitian melalui komunikasi intrapersonal dan interpersonal pada tersangka kasus terorisme PM. Menggunakan teori interaksionisme simbolik George Herbert Mead yang diselaraskan dengan pemikiran Ronald B Adler dan Neil Towne, serta menggunakan bantuan skematik dari Johari Window untuk menganalisa pengalaman hidup subjek penelitian, yaitu PM, yang merupakan tersangka kasus terorisme. Menggunakan metode penelitian studi kasus dan teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara mendalam(in depth interview) dengan wawancara tidak terstuktur. Studi ini merupakan studi konsep diri dari dalam yang analisisnya bertujuan untuk membentuk proposisi – proposisi yang sesuai dengan kasus – kasus yang dipelajari dengan tipe penelitian deskriptif eksploratif, yang bertujuan memberikan gambaran mendalam terhadap skema pemikiran PM dalam memahami makna jihad dan aksi terorisme dalam konteks komunikasi interpersonal. Hasil penelitian ini tidak dapat digeneralisasikan kepada seluruh tersangka teroris lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PM mengalami perubahan konsep diri setelah menggunakan jilbab jubah dan bercadar dan menikah dengan SA. Beberapa hal menunjukkan bahwa PM memiliki beberapa indikasi konsep diri negatif dalam memahami makna jihad dan terorisme yang menghambat komunikasi interpersonalnya, dan dalam berkomunikasi cenderung menyamarkan wilayah diri terkait dengan pemahaman makna jihad dan aksi terorisme. Dalam perspektif interaksi simbolik PM dapat disimpulkan terdapat hubungan antara teori konsep diri dan skema pemikiran PM dalam pemahamannya mengenai makna jihad dan aksi terorisme yang terletak pada pengungkapan diri (self disclosure) dan pengidentifikasian persepsinya mengenai dirinya yang bersifat pribadi, apa yang diperlihatkan kepada publik, dan dirinya yang diimpikan. Bahwa konsep diri PM sebagian besar ditemukan, bahwa PM tidak berinteraksi terbuka mengenai seluruh wilayah dirinya kepada orang – orang selain suaminya. PM menghindari dialog terbuka dengan orang lain diluar komunitasnya (thougutI) dan menutup wilayah diri mengenai pemahaman makna jihad dan aksi terorisme dengan cara pengelolaan kesan (impression management) ketika tampil di muka umum baik kepada tetangga ataupun keluarga. Sedangkan konsep diri PM yang bersifat pribadi ditemukan bahwa PM menyamarkan wilayah dirinya agar tidak diketahui mengenai pemahaman makna jihad dan aksi terorisme.
