Abstract

The importance of understanding packaging in making packaging. Everyone will only see certain things that will replace the brain and then affect one's thought patterns and actions. Humans 80% of sensing activities carried out through vision or invisible (Wirya, 1999: 11). Thus the visual packaging elements consist of brands that are presented through logos and covers, shapes, letters, colors, illustrations, layouts (layout), consisting of those related to the process of delivering messages and communicative attributes of packaging designs in the process of delivering messages product visually. A good packaging design in that the packaging must be simple, functional, and able to create positive emotional responses, and can indirectly persuade the target audience to buy the product. Packaging must be able to attract attention visually, emotionally, rationally. Seeing how important packaging is to a product and understanding of graphic packaging design that must be known, it is necessary to apply visual communication design theory in packaging and labeling arrangements in Indonesia. The owner does not understand this. So here so that packaging has an attractive visual appearance by applying the theory of visual communication design and following industry standardization of packaging, for that the authors do graphic design design on Southeast Cakery packaging by selecting materials, adding labels according to Indonesian National Standards in the baking industry, making character for Southeast Cakery packaging, determine the appropriate colors, adjust the layout in the packaging and adjust to the targets for Southeast Cakery products. Keywords: packaging, label, Southeast Cakery Pentingnya pemahaman packaging dalam menciptakan sebuah kemasan. Setiap orang hanya akan melihat hal-hal tertentu yang akan direkam otak dan kemudian mempengaruhi pola pikir dan tindakan seseorang. Manusia 80% kegiatan pengindraannya dilakukan melalui penglihatan atau kasat mata (Wirya,1999:11). Dengan demikian elemen-elemen visual kemasan terdiri dari merek yang dihadirkan lewat logo dan cap, bentuk, huruf, warna, ilustrasi, tata letak (layout), merupakan unsur yang memegang peranan dalam proses penyampaian pesan dan membentuk atribut komunikatif suatu desain kemasan dalam proses penyampaian pesan produk secara visual. Desain kemasan yang baik adalah kemasan tersebut harus sederhana, fungsional, dan mampu menciptakan respon emosional positif, dan secara tidak langsung dapat membujuk target audien untuk membeli produk. Kemasan harus dapat menarik perhatian secara visual, emosional, rasional. Melihat betapa pentingnya kemasan terhadap suatu produk dan pemahaman desain grafis kemasan yang harus diketahui, perlu diterapkannya teori desain komunikasi visual dalam kemasan dan pengaturan pelabelan di Indonesia. Pemilik tidak memahami akan hal tersebut. Maka di sini agar kemasan memiliki tampilan visual yang menarik dengan menerapkan teori desain komunikasi visual dan mengikuti standarisasi kemasan secara industri, untuk itu penulis melakukan perancangan desain grafis pada kemasan Southeast Cakery dengan memilih material, menambahkan label sesuai dengan Standar Nasional Indonesia dalam industri kue, membuat karakter untuk kemasan Southeast Cakery, menentukan warna-warna yang sesuai, menyesuaikan layout dalam kemasan dan menyesuaikan dengan target sasaran untuk produk Southeast Cakery.
