Abstract
PT. X is one of the companies engaged in manufacturing. The product is the packaging in which the product is a kind of plastic that is used by consumers for a product to be used as packaging packaging. The production process uses several types of machines, where the main process consists of several types and production processes. Currently the company's quality packaging products manufacturer is in the process of printing - extru - slitting not maximized, this is indicated by the average - average number of number of product defects is large enough that 6% of defects for 6 months on products with raw materials PET - LLDPE - PE. The purpose of this study was to identify the level of quality control in product packaging PT. X by using DMAIC method then determines the proposed improvements that can be done to improve the quality of packaging production of PT. X and identify the level of Six Sigma value after doing Improvement Based on the results of the processing has been done, it transpired six sigma value before improvement, then set priorities for improvement do improvement, the first priority for improvement is in the process of doing Slitting followed and the final printing process Extru process. Following the improvement in mind there is an increase in the value of sigma, subsequent to the improvement and this should be increased and maintained by the company. Keywords: Flexible packaging product, Six Sigma, DMAIC. PT. X merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang manufaktur. Produknya adalah kemasan dimana produk ini merupakan sejenis plastik yang digunakan oleh konsumen untuk suatu produk yang harus menggunakan kemasan sebagai packaging. Proses produksinya menggunakan beberapa macam jenis mesin, dimana proses utamanya terdiri dari beberapa macam jenis dan proses produksi. Saat ini kualitas perusahaan produsen produk kemasan ini pada proses printing – extru – slitting belum maksimal, hal ini ditunjukkan oleh rata – rata banyaknya jumlah produk defect yang cukup besar yaitu 6% defect selama 6 bulan pada produk dengan bahan baku PET – LLDPE - PE. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi tingkat pengendalian kualitas produk kemasan di PT. X dengan menggunakan metode DMAIC kemudian menentukan usulan perbaikan yang dapat dilakukan untuk memperbaiki kualitas produksi kemasan PT. X dan mengidentifikasi tingkat nilai Six Sigma setelah dilakukannya Improvement Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan yang telah dilakukan, diketahuilah nilai six sigma sebelum improvement, kemudian ditentukan prioritas perbaikan untuk dilakukannya improvement, prioritas pertama untuk dilakukannya improvement yaitu pada proses Slitting kemudian diikuti proses printing dan terakhir proses Extru. Setelah dilakukannya improvement diketahui terdapat peningkatan nilai sigma setelah dilakukannya improvement dan hal ini harus tetap ditingkatkan dan dipertahankan oleh pihak perusahaan.
