Abstract

PT. Induro Fiberglass is one of the largest factory of the many competitors there. Annually increasing demand requires PT. Induroshould increase productivity. Productivity is calculated by the number of manpower to produce units per day. HO (Hand Over)Mould area type of SD-8 is 9 Man Hours / Unit, MSD-8 9 Man Hours/Unit, LD8i 15.17 Man Hours / Unit. and then HO (Hand Over) for Settings areaisSD-8 13 Man Hours / Unit, MSD-8 13 Man Hours / Unit, LD8-I 33.6 Man Hours/Unit. for the last area Finishing HO within 1 day of data for the type of SD-8 9 Man Hours/Unit, MSD-8 9 Man Hours/Unit, and LD8-I 12.6 Man Hours/Unit. So data that have been outlined above then it will be done research to increase productivity on the area setting by using lean method.Lean method that focuses on the identification and elimination activities (non-value-adding activities) in the design of production (for manufacturing) or operation (for services) who related directly with customers (Jones & Womack, 2002). The root cause of problem is a non-value added activities,which one in the setting area is process cycle time that too long for each process. After sort out VA activities and NVA activities, NVA activities can be eliminated, and then the cycle time can be reduced and productivity can be increased. Keywords : value stream mapping, lean, lean thinking PT. Induro adalah salah satu pabrik Fiberglass terbesar dari sekian banyak pesaing-pesaing yang ada. Permintaan yang setiap tahunnya meningkat mengharuskan PT. Induro meningkatkan produktivitasnya. Produktivitas dihitung dengan jumlah manpower bias menghasilkan berapa unit perhari. Data HO (Hand Over) untuk bagian cetak dalam 1 hari tipe SD-8 adalah 9 Man Hours/Unit, MSD-8 9 Man Hours/Unit, LD8-I 15.17 Man Hours/Unit. Lalu data HO (Hand Over) bagian Setting dalam 1 hari untuk tipe SD-8 adalah 13 Man Hours/Unit, MSD-8 13 Man Hours/Unit, LD8-I 33.6 Man Hours/Unit. Sedangkan untuk bagian Finishing data HO dalam 1 hari untuk tipe SD-8 9 Man Hours/Unit, MSD-8 9 Man Hours/Unit, dan LD8-I 12.6 Man Hours/Unit. Dari data HO tersebut maka akan dilakukan penelitian perbaikan proses produksi diarea setting dengan suatu metode lean yang berfokus pada identifikasi dan eliminasi aktivitas-aktivitas tidak bernilai tambah (non- value-adding activities) dalam desain produksi (untuk bidang manufaktur) atau operasi (untuk bidang jasa) yang berkaitan langsung dengan pelanggan (Jones & Womack, 2002). Akar penyebab dari permasalahan yang ada adalah non-value added activities yang terjadi pada proses setting adalah besarnya waktu siklus pada setiap proses. Setelah memilah-milah VA activities dan NVA activities maka NVA activities dapat dieliminasi, waktu siklus dapat berkurang dan produktivitas dapat meningkat.
