Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh cara pandang media online Mongabay Indonesia dalam mengangkat isu hutan adat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis konstruksi pemberitaan hutan adat melalui berita di Mongabay.co.id. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dengan analisis framing Robert N. Entman. Unit analisis penelitian ini berupa teks berita tentang hutan adat di Mongabay.co.id pada periode Oktober 2016 - Februari 2017. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam pemberitaannya, Mongabay Indonesia mengkonstruksikan hutan adat adalah tempat hidup masyarakat adat, masyarakat adat menyatu keseharian hidupnya dengan hutan adat. Hutan adat mampu menopang keseharian hidup masyarakat adat. Lambannya penetapan hutan adat oleh pemerintah akan membuat masyarakat adat tidak memiliki jaminan atas hak masyarakat adat sehingga masyarakat adat rentan mengalami kriminalisasi dan penggusuran dari wilayah adatnya. Konstruksi ini sejalan dengan konsep masyarakat adat terhadap hutan dan tidak dapat dipisahkan dari siklus kehidupan komunitas adat yang tinggal di dalamnya. Mongabay Indonesia memiliki keberpihakan untuk menyebarkan berita tentang isu lingkungan dan memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat terkait isu lingkungan seperti yang tercantum dalam visi misi Mongabay Kata kunci: framing, hutan adat, kontruksi pemberitaan, berita, media, Mongabay Indonesia This research is motivated by media perspective of Mongabay Indonesia in raising the issue of customary forest. The purpose of this study is to analyze the construction of customary forest reporting through news in Mongabay.co.id. This research uses constructivist paradigm with framing analysis of Robert N. Entman. The unit of analysis of this research in the form of text news about customary forest in Mongabay.co.id in October 2016 - February 2017. The results showed that in its reporting, Mongabay Indonesia construct customary forest is a place of indigenous people live, indigenous peoples fused daily life with customary forest. Customary forest is able to sustain the daily life of indigenous people. The delay in determining customary forest by the government will make indigenous peoples have no guarantee of indigenous rights so that indigenous peoples are vulnerable to criminalization and evictions from their customary territories. This construction is in line with the concept of indigenous peoples to the forest and can not be separated from the life cycle of indigenous communities living in it. Mongabay Indonesia has the alignment to spread the word about environmental issues and educate the public on environmental issues as stated in Mongabay's mission vision.
