Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the effect of transformational leadership and work motivation through job satisfaction on the performance of employees of PT Bank Central Asia, Tbk. The population in this study were 124 permanent employees of PT Bank Central Asia, Tbk with a total sample of 95 respondents, sampling using purposive sampling technique. This type of research is quantitative research and data collection using a survey method through the distribution of questionnaires using a Likert scale. Analysis of the data in this study using Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis and data processing using SmartPLS software. The results of data analysis indicate that the direct influence of transformational leadership on performance as well as through job satisfaction as a mediating variable, has a positive and significant impact. This means that job satisfaction is able to partially mediate the relationship between the influence of transformational leadership on employee performance. Job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Direct work motivation has no significant effect on employee performance, but work motivation on employee performance through job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect, meaning that job satisfaction fully mediates the relationship of the influence of work motivation on employee performance. Keywords: transformational leadership, work motivation, job satisfaction, employee performance, SEM-PLS Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh dari kepemimpinan transformasional dan motivasi kerja melalui kepuasan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan PT Bank Central Asia, Tbk. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 124 karyawan tetap PT Bank Central Asia, Tbk dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 95 responden, pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dan pengumpulan data menggunakan metode survei melalui penyebaran kuesioner yang menggunakan skala Likert. Analisa data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) dan pengolahan data menggunakan software SmartPLS. Hasil analisa data menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh langsung kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap kinerja maupun melalui kepuasan kerja sebagai variabel mediasi, memberikan dampak yang positif dan signifikan. Artinya kepuasan kerja mampu memediasi secara parsial hubungan pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap kinerja karyawan. Kepuasan kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Motivasi kerja secara langsung berpengaruh tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan, namun motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan melalui kepuasan kerja berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan, artinya kepuasan kerja memediasi secara penuh hubungan pengaruh motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan.
