Abstract

The Public Relations Secretariat General of the DPR RI invites the public, especially the academic community of various levels, to visit the DPR RI building and participate in parliamentary education activities which are then given information in the form of information about the DPR's working mechanism. In this regard, this study aims to determine the audience's assessment of the parliamentary education activities organized by the Public Relations of the DPR RI Secretariat General, and to find out students' understanding of the working mechanism of the DPR and to find out how much influence the public relations parliamentary education activities of the DPR RI Secretariat General have on cognitive levels. students on the work mechanism of the DPR The theory used in this research is the first, the S-O-R theory explains the message conveyed by the public relations of the DPR in parliamentary education activities to visiting students, and the second is a cognitive theory to explain the understanding of the work mechanism of the DPR RI on student visits. This research is quantitative by using the positivism research paradigm to find or obtain information about the causal relationship that usually predicts a social phenomenon or human activity. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing questionnaires to students of Maranatha University Bandung and Jakarta State University who participated in the Parliamentary Education activities as many as 220 people with a total sample size of 69 respondents. The sampling technique in this study using the snowball technique. Based on the results of this study and data analysis that has been carried out, it is found that parliamentary education activities have a positive effect on the level of student cognition about the working mechanism of the DPR RI.. Keywords: Parliamentary Education, Cognitive Level, PR activities Humas Sekretariat Jenderal DPR RI mengundang masyarakat khususnya masyarakat akademis dari berbagai tingkatan untuk berkunjung ke gedung DPR RI dan mengikuti kegiatan edukasi parlemen yang kemudian diberikan penerangan berupa informasi tentang mekanisme kerja DPR. Berkenaan dengan hal tersebut maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penilaian khalayak terhadap kegiatan edukasi parlemen yang diselenggarakan Humas Sekretariat Jenderal DPR RI, dan untuk mengetahui pemahaman mahasiswa tentang mekanisme kerja DPR serta untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh dari kegiatan edukasi parlemen humas setjen DPR RI terhadap tingkat kognitif mahasiswa pada mekanisme kerja DPR Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah yang pertama Teori S-O-R menjelaskan tentang pesan yang disampaikan oleh humas DPR dalam kegiatan edukasi parlemen kepada mahasiswa yang berkunjung, dan yang kedua ada teori kognitif untuk menjelaskan tentang pemahaman meknisme kerja DPR RI pada kunjungan mahasiswa Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif dengan menggunakan paradigma penelitian positivisme untuk menemukan atau memperoleh informasi tentang hubungan sebab akibat yang biasa memprediksi suatu gejala sosial atau aktifitas manusia. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara menyebarkan kuisioner kepada Mahasiswa Universitas Maranatha Bandung dan Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang mengikuti kegiatan Edukasi Parlemen sebanyak 220 orang dengan jumlah sampel yang sebesar 69 orang responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan Teknik snowball. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian ini dan analisis data yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh hasil bahwa kegiatan edukasi parlemen berpengaruh positif pada tingkat kognisi mahasiswa tentang mengenai mekanisme kerja DPR RI.
