Abstract

The main objective of this study was to evaluate the contribution of total productive maintenance (TPM) using OEE (Overall Equipment Efectiveness) as a tool in the ceramic industry in the production area of body preparation line. In this study, an increase in the value of OEE by implementing TPM using one of the pillars focused equipment and process improvement or Kaizen methodology. TPM is used as a tool to improve the readiness of the machine by increasing maintenance functions.Spray dryer is a major engine in the department body preparation as the main supporter of sustainability of production processes and quality determinants powder itself that supports quality ceramics in general. Earlier spray dryer using corona system has some major problem including required more time and more energy, especially in the maintenance process. This study offers an alternative modification process improvement with the new system called the individual nozzle, which is able to simplify the maintenance process. The results of these modifications have been able to increase availability rate (A), performance rate (P) and quality rate (Q), by reducing downtime, increasing net operating time and the quality of products, so as to deliver the increase in the value of OEE in department body preparation. Also from the economical can reduce production costs by a decrease in fuel consumption of gas Key words: Individual Nozzle, Spray dryer, TPM, OEE, Six Big Losses Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi kontribusi dari Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) menggunakan OEE (Overall Equipment Efectiveness) sebagai tool pada industri keramik di area produksi body preparation line. Pada penelitian ini peningkatan nilai OEE menggunakan metode TPM dengan menerapkan salah satu pilarnya focused equipment dan process improvement atau Kaizen methodology. TPM digunakan sebagai alat untuk meningkatkan kesiapan mesin dengan meningkatkan fungsi perawatan. spray dryer adalah sebuah mesin utama di departemen body preparation sebagai penyokong utama kelangsungan proses produksi dan penentu kualitas powder itu sendiri yang mendukung kualitas keramik secara umum. Spray dryer sebelumnya menggunakan sistem corona memiliki beberapa kendala utama diantaranya diperlukan waktu yang lebih lama dan tenaga yang lebih banyak terutama dalam proses maintenance. Penelitian ini menawarkan alternatif perbaikan dengan proses modifikasi dengan sistem yang baru yang disebut dengan individual nozzle, yang mampu mempermudah proses maintenance. Hasil dari modifikasi ini telah mampu meningkatkan availability rate (A), performance rate (P) serta quality rate (Q), dengan menurunkan downtime, meningkatkan net operating time dan kualitas produk, sehingga mampu menghantarkan kenaikan nilai OEE di departemen body preparation. Selain itu dari sisi ekonomis dapat mengurangi biaya produksi dengan penurunan pemakaian bahan bakar gas. Kata kunci : Individual Nozzle, Spray dryer, TPM, OEE, Six Big Losses
