Abstract
This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of motivation, competence, and commitment to career development of planner staffs in the Bappeda DKI Jakarta. Research data is for five years observed period (January, 2014 until December, 2018). The sampling method used was saturation sampling in which all members of the population of 80 planner staff were taken as samples. The method of analysis used in this study is multiple linear regression. The results showed that motivation, competence, and commitment simultaneously are having positive and significant effect on career development. Partially, motivation variable as well as competence and commitment variable are having positive significant effect on career development. Competence is the biggest signinficant variable in influencing career development. Keywords: Motivation, Competence, Commitment, Career Development. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh motivasi, kompetensi, dan komitmen terhadap pengembangan karir staf perencana di Bappeda DKI Jakarta. Data penelitian merupakan data untuk periode observasi selama lima tahun (Januari, 2014 hingga Desember, 2018). Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah sampling jenuh di mana semua anggota populasi yang berjumlah 80 orang staf perencana diambil sebagai sampel. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi, kompetensi, dan komitmen secara bersamaan memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pengembangan karir. Secara parsial, variabel motivasi serta variabel kompetensi dan komitmen berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap pengembangan karier. Kompetensi adalah variabel yang paling besar pengaruhnya terhadap pengembangan karir. Kata kunci: Motivasi, Kompetensi, Komitmen, Pengembangan Karir.
