Abstract

The problem of stress often occurs in auditors who work in Public Accountant Firm, especially during a peak season. Several previous studies showed that the role stress has a negative impact on job outcome. To overcome this, this research tries to provide a solution and test whether through a healthy lifestyle mechanism (healthy lifestyle, vitality and psychological well-being) is able to minimize the negative impact of role stress (role ambiguity, role conflict, role overload and job burnout) to job outcome (job satisfaction, performance, turnover intentions, and organizational commitment). The population in this study are all auditors who work in the Public Accounting Firm in Indonesia, both those affiliated with the big four and those who are not. Sampling in this study used the convenience sampling method with consideration of certain criteria. The method used in data collection is the method of collecting primary data using a questionnaire which is filled directly by the auditor as the research respondent. The analysis technique in this study used the Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis with the help of the SmartPLS statistical program. The results of this study indicate that a healthy lifestyle mechanism can minimize the negative impact of role stressors on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. However, this study has not been able to prove that a healthy lifestyle mechanism can reduce the auditor's desire to shift work and improve auditor performance. This study also shows the results that job satisfaction can reduce the auditor's turnover intention and organizational commitment is not a factor that can reduce that intention. Keywords: Auditors, role stress, healthy lifestyle mechanisms, job outcomes, SmartPLS Masalah stres sering terjadi pada auditor yang bekerja di Kantor Akuntan Publik terutama pada saat peak season. Beberapa penelitian terdahulu menunjukan bahwa stres peran berdampak negatif terhadap hasil kerja auditor. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, maka penelitian kali ini mencoba memberikan solusi dan menguji apakah melalui mekanisme gaya hidup sehat (perilaku hidup sehat, vitalitas dan kesejahteraan psikologis) mampu meminimalisir dampak negatif stres peran (ambiguitas peran, konflik peran, kelebihan peran dan kelelahan kerja) terhadap hasil kerja auditor (kepuasan kerja, kinerja, keinginan berpindah kerja, dan komitmen organisasional). Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh auditor yang bekerja di Kantor Akuntan Publik di Indonesia, baik yang berafiliasi dengan KAP big four maupun yang tidak. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode convenience sampling dengan pertimbangan kriteria tertentu. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah metode pengumpulan data primer dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang diisi langsung oleh auditor Kantor Akuntan Publik sebagai responden penelitian. Teknik analisis pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis Structural Equation Model (SEM) dengan bantuan program statistik SmartPLS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa mekanisme gaya hidup sehat mampu meminimalisir dampak negatif dari role stressor terhadap kepuasan kerja dan komitmen berorganisasi. Namun demikian, penelitian ini belum dapat membuktikan bahwa mekanisme gaya hidup sehat mampu mengurangi keinginan auditor untuk berpindah kerja dan meningkatkan kinerja auditor. Penelitian ini juga menunjukan hasil bahwa kepuasan kerja dapat menurunkan niat auditor untuk berpindah kerja dan komitmen berorganisasi tidak menjadi faktor yang mampu menurunkan niat tersebut.
