Abstract
ABSTRAK Alat uji puntir merupakan suatu alat yang dirancang untuk mengukur seberapa besar kekuatan puntir suatu material. Namun ketiadaan alat uji puntir di laboratorium mengakibatkan kesulitan dalam mengembangkan metode pengajaran dan menciptakan iklim belajar yang kondusif. Pentingnya alat uji puntir ini untuk pembelajaran dan penelitian maka terdorong untuk merancang alat uji puntir dengan biaya yang relatif lebih murah. Tujuan yang hendak dicapai dalam penelitian ini yaitu untuk merancang alat uji puntir dengan beban putaran manual dengan menggunakan standar pengujian ASTM E-143. Adapun spesifikasi alat uji puntir tersebut dirancang untuk pengujian material ST 37 dengan kekuatan tarik sebesar 500 MPa. Torsi maksimum yang direncanakan dari alat uji puntir ini sebesar 117.750 N.mm dengan safety factor sebesar 2, sehingga dari penelitian tersebut dapat dirancang alat uji puntir dengan beban putaran manual. Kata kunci: Uji puntir, standar ASTM E-143, torsi, safety factor, beban putaran DESIGN OF TWISTING TEST TOOLS WITH MANUAL ROUND LOAD USING ASTM E 143 TESTING STANDARDS ABSTRACT Twisting test equipment is an instrument designed to measure the strength of a material's torsion. However, the absence of trial methods in the laboratory was successful in developing methods that were developed and developed by conducive learning. The importance of these twisting trials for learning and research is motivated to test twisting tools at a relatively lower cost. The goal agreed in this study was to test the load test equipment with manual rotation using ASTM E-143 testing standards. The specifications of the twisting test equipment are designed for testing ST 37 materials with a tensile strength of 500 MPa. The maximum torque determined from the torsion test tool is 117,750 N.mm with a safety factor of 2, so that from this study the torsion test tool can be made with a manual rotation load.
