Abstract
ABSTRAK Mesin pemotong pipa di PT. XYZ digunakan untuk memotong pipa standar ISO dengan diameter nominal 32 mm SCH10s dan diameter nominal 40 mm SCH10s. Tujuan dari penelitian agar mesin pemotong pipa dapat memotong pipa tersebut dengan cara modifikasi transmisi dari sabuk-puli menjadi rantai-sproket. Desain lama mesin pemotong pipa menggunakan motor listrik 7,5 kW dengan putaran 1440 rpm. Untuk mentransmisikan 2 poros menggunakan transmisi sabuk-puli dengan rasio 1,67 dan jarak antar poros 725 mm. Menggunakan speed reducer berupa gearbox dengan rasio 14,58. Setelah dilakukan perhitungan maka besar daya yang ditransmisikan oleh transmsisi sabuk-puli sebesar 2,9 kW, dan torsi yang ditransmisikan sebesar 469,03 Nm. Untuk memotong pipa transmisi yang baru harus dapat mentransmisikan daya dan torsi yang lebih besar dari transmisi terdahulu. Berdasarkan kecepatan putar dan daya rencana , maka didapatkan rantai tipe 08B dengan jumlah gigi sproket kecil 27 dan sproket besar 45. Modifikasi tidak merubah rasio transmisi namun merubah jarak antar poros menjadi 381 mm. Dengan modifikasi transmisi rantai-sproket, dapat mentransmisikan daya sebesar 6,387 kW, dan torsi sebesar 1029,1 Nm. Setelah dilakukan percobaan, mesin setelah modifikasi dapat digunakan untuk memotong pipa dengan diameter nominal 32 mm SCH10s dan diameter nominal 40 mm SCH10s dengan kualitas hasil pemotongan yang baik. XYZ is used to cut ISO standard pipes with a nominal diameter of 32 mm SCH10s and a nominal diameter of 40 mm SCH10s. The purpose of this research is that the pipe cutting machine can cut the pipe by modifying the transmission from the belt-pulley into a chain-sprocket. The old design of the pipe cutting machine uses a 7,5 kW electric motor with motor speed of 1440 rpm. To transmit 2 shafts using a pulley belt transmission with a ratio of 1,67 and the distance between shafts is 725 mm. Using a speed reducer in the form of a gearbox with a ratio of 14,58. After calculating, the amount of power transmitted by the pulsed belt transmission is 2,9 kW, and the torque transmitted is 469,03 Nm. To cut those pipes a new transmission design must be able to transmit power and torque greater than the old transmission. Based on these requirements, a type of chain 08B is obtained with the number of teeth of smaller sprocket is 27 and larger sprocket is 45. Modification does not change the transmission ratio but changes the distance between shafts to 381 mm. With the modification of the chain-sprocket transmission, it can transmit power of 6.387 kW, and torque of 1029.1 Nm. After the simulation, the machine after modification can be used to cut pipes with a nominal diameter of 32 mm SCH10s and a nominal diameter of 40 mm SCH10s with a good quality cutting result.
