Abstract
This study aims to determine comparison of financial distress prediction model base on the Altman, Springate, Zmijewski, Ohlson, and Grover Models and to assess the accuracy of the five models in coal mining sector companies that listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2015 – 2019. Number of companies sampled in this study are 22 companies. The whole company is the result of sample selection according to purposive sampling technique. This study uses a quantitative approach. The research data is obtained from the annual company's financial reports and is related to the financial distress of the sample companies during the period of observation. The research data were analyzed using the Kruskal Wallis test. The choice of analysis technique is because there are more than two methods to compare the level of accuracy and the results of the normality test show that financial distress data are not normally distributed. Based on the results of the analysis in this study, it is concluded that: (1) The results of measuring the company's financial distress using the Altman, Springate, Zmijewski, Ohlson and Grover models have significant differences; (2) Altman Model and Ohlson Model have the highest level of accuracy, which is 90.91%, while the accuracy rate of the Springate model is 63.64%, the accuracy rate of the Zmijewski model is 86.36% and the accuracy level of the Grover model is 81.82%. Keywords: Financial Distress, Altman, Springate, Zmijewski, Ohlson, Grover, Kruskal-Wallis.
