Abstract

ABSTRAK Judul : STUDI PENGARUH CAMPURAN POLYETHLEN TEREPHTALATE TERHADAP KUAT TEKAN BETON. Nama : Umi Latifah, Nim : 41115320086. Dosen Pembimbing : Syafwandi, Prof. Dr. Ir. Drs, M.sc, 2019 Sampah plastik adalah penyumbang terbesar didunia dan termasuk kedalam golongan material yang tidak dapat diuraikan oleh organisme (non bio-degradable), serta bersifat tahan lama (persistent) yang tidak membusuk. Hal yang dapat dilihat langsung dari limbah ini adalah berat yang ringan dan tidak mudah berubah bentuk. Plastik jenis Polyethylen Terephtalate yang banyak digunakan sebagai botol air mineral dapat didaur ulang kembali sebagai agregat kasar bagi pembuatan beton ringan. Dalam penelitian ini, dilakukan uji pembebanan kuat tekan. Untuk mengetahui property beton ringan, dilakukan uji modulus elastisitas, kuat tekan,dan kuat Tarik. Sifat fisis dan mekanik dari beton ringan dalam penggunaan limbah plastik jenis PET sebagai pengganti agregat kasar harus sesuai dengan peraturan yang ada. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memanfaatkan Polyethlen Terephtalate (PET) sebagai pengganti agregat untuk menghasilkan beton,serta mengetahui pengaruh agregat kasar buatan yang berasal dari Polyethlen Terephtalate (PET). Nilai kuat tekan tertinggi terdapat pada beton dengan umur perawatan 28 hari yaitu sebesar 23,973 MPa. Nilai kuat tarik tertinggi terdapat pada beton dengan umur perawatan 28 hari yaitu sebesar 2,782 MPa. Kata kunci : Polyethlen Terephtalate (PET), kuat tekan, agregat buatan. ABSTRACT Plastic waste is the largest contributor in the world and belongs to a group of materials that cannot be broken down by organisms (non-degradable), and is persistent (persistent) that does not rot. What can be seen directly from this waste is a light weight and not easy to change shape. Polyethylene Terephtalate plastic types which are widely used as mineral water bottles can be recycled back as coarse aggregates for making lightweight concrete. In this study, a compressive strength loading test was performed. To determine the lightweight concrete properties, the modulus of elasticity, compressive strength, and tensile strength were tested. The physical and mechanical properties of lightweight concrete in the use of PET plastic waste as a substitute for coarse aggregate must comply with existing regulations. The purpose of this study is to utilize Polyethlen Terephtalate (PET) as a substitute for aggregates to produce concrete, and to determine the effect of artificial coarse aggregates derived from Polyethlen Terephtalate (PET).The highest compressive strength value is found in concrete with a maintenance age of 28 days that is equal to 23,973 MPa. The highest tensile strength value is found in concrete with a maintenance age of 28 days that is equal to 2,782 MPa.
