Abstract
Culture is a way of life that includes knowledge, attitudes, behavior patterns, beliefs, arts, morals, laws, customs and habits that are owned and inherited by members of a particular society as evidence of the triumph of human life to overcome various obstacles and difficulties of life in order to achieve salvation. and happiness that is orderly and peaceful. The Javanese culture that has existed until now has been transformed into a local wisdom that the people of Yogyakarta use to interact with each other, both with fellow humans, with God, and with nature. Therefore, the relationship between the culture of the surrounding environment and the basic idea of the development of this Cultural Park is themed on vernacular architecture, where the use of local materials, the use of local labor, space programs that adapt to building conditions, and forms that reflect local culture are characteristics of vernacular architecture Keywords: Yogyakarta, Culture, Vernacular Architecture Budaya adalah cara kehidupan yang mencakup pengetahuan, sikap, pola perilaku, kepercayaan, kesenian, moral, hukum, adat dan kebiasaan-kebiasaan yang dimiliki dan diwariskan oleh anggota suatu masyarakat tertentu sebagai bukti kejayaan hidup manusia untuk mengatasi berbagai rintangan dan kesukaran hidup guna mencapai keselamatan dan kebahagiaan yang bersifat tertib dan damai. Budaya Jawa yang ada hingga kini bertransformasi menjadi sebuah kearifan lokal yang dipergunakan masyarakat Yogyakarta untuk saling berinteraksi, baik dengan sesama manusia, dengan Tuhan, dan dengan alam. Oleh karenanya keterkaitan antara budaya lingkungan sekitar dengan ide dasar pembangunan Taman Budaya ini bertemakan arsitektur vernacular, Dimana pemanfaatan material local, penggunaan tenaga kerja lokal, program ruang yang menyesuaikan dengan kondisi bangunan, serta bentuk yang mencerminkan kebudayaan setempat menjadi ciri pada arsitektur vernakular.
