Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami gambaran pengalaman ibu yang memiliki anak disleksia yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode fenomenologi. Wawancara mendalam dilakukan dengan tiga orang partisipan. Menurut penelitian yang terangkum dalam International Book of Dyslexia, prevalensi penyandang Disleksia tidak benar-benar sama di tiap negara, misalnya di Amerika Serikat 17%, Australia 16%, dan Malaysia 7%. Sayangnya, di Indonesia sendiri, penelitian secara menyeluruh tentang prevelensi penyandang Disleksia belum pernah dilakukan. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan tiga tema, yaitu Kesadaran Orangtua, Pengetahuan Orangtua, dan Dukungan Sosial. Urgensi dalam penelitian ini adalah menggali, menghayati serta memaknai pengalaman ibu yang memiliki anak disleksia ketika harus mengasuh berdasarkan sudut pandang partisipan secara langsung dimulai dari bagaimana ibu memaknai pengalamannya, bagaimana perjalanan pengalaman yang dilalui serta memahami bagaimana perasaan ibu dalam berjuang untuk menjalankan proses kelas therapy agar anak menjadi mandiri sesuai dengan bakat yang dimiliki berdasarkan pendekatan fenomenologi. Kata kunci: Disleksia, Fenomenologi. ABSTRACT This study discusses the experience of mothers who have dyslexic children who performed using phenomenology methods. In-depth interviews were conducted with three participants. According to research summarized in the International Dyslexia Book, the prevalence of people with dyslexia is not really the same in every country, for example in the United States 17%, Australia 16%, and Malaysia 7%. Unfortunately, in Indonesia itself, complete research on the prevalence of people with dyslexia has never been done. The results of the study found three themes, namely Parental Awareness, Parent Knowledge, and Social Support. The urgency in this study is to explore, appreciate and interpret the experiences of mothers who have dyslexic children based on participants' perspectives directly starting from how mothers interpret their experiences, how the experiences traveled and understand how mothers feel struggling to carry out therapy so that children become independent according to talent possessed, based on the phenomenology approach.
