Abstract
Quick change over is the entire activity and the time required between the production of the last product and the production of the next product at normal efficiency or normal speed in the process of changing the product type. All such change over activities are considered as waste because of what does not provide added value to the final product and cause a cost increase in production, therefore should be eliminated or at least reduced to a minimum. PT. XYZ is a company engaged in the food and beverage industry. In this study using the Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) method. The key philosophy behind the SMED method is that there are two setup activities that are the basis of the SMED method namely: Internal setup is only performed when the machine is in shutdown condition and external setup can be done while the machine is in Operation state. Both concepts are a very important concept in the implementation of SMED and the purpose of implementing SMED one of which is the reduction of the time of the change over process. The results shown in this method, before the Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) methods are used, the change over time needed in one of the change over instances, from the AM Eks 620 ML AUS product to an AMTP Eks 275 ml AUS product is 02:17:18. And after the Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) method is used, the change over time it takes is only 01:22:25. The time reduction occurs at 00:54:53 or has a reduced time of 39.8%. Keywords: Quick change over, Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED), internal setup, external setup Quick change over adalah seluruh aktifitas dan waktu yang diperlukan antara produksi produk terakhir dan produksi produk berikutnya pada normal efisiensi atau normal speed dalam proses pergantian jenis produk. Seluruh aktifitas change over tersebut dianggap sebagai waste karena apa yang dilakukannya tidak memberikan nilai tambah terhadap produk akhir dan menyebabkan kenaikan biaya produksi, oleh karenanya harus dihilangkan atau paling tidak diturunkan seminimal mungkin. PT. XYZ merupakan sebuah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang industri makanan dan minuman. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED). Filosofi kunci dibalik metode SMED adalah adanya dua aktifitas setup yang merupakan dasar dari metode SMED yaitu : internal setup hanya dilakukan bila mesin dalam kondisi shutdown dan external setup dapat dilakukan pada saat mesin dalam keadaan operasi. Kedua konsep tersebut merupakan konsep yang yang sangat penting dalam implementasi SMED dan tujuan dari penerapan SMED salah satunya adalah mereduksi waktu dari proses change over. Hasil yang ditunjukkan pada peneilitian ini, sebelum metode Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) digunakan, waktu change over yang dibutuhkan pada salah satu contoh change over, yaitu dari produk AM Eks 620 ml AUS ke produk AMTP Eks 275 ml AUS adalah 02:17:18. Dan setelah metode Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) digunakan, waktu change over yang dibutuhkan hanya 01:22:25. Terjadi reduksi waktu sebesar 00:54:53 atau mengalami reduksi waktu sebesar 39,8%. Kata Kunci: Quick change over, Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED), internal setup, external setup
