Abstract

Untuk waste defect dilakukan perbaikan dengan menggunakan pendekatan DMAIC sehingga terjadi peningkatan sigma level dari 3,63 menjadi 4,5.=== Indonesia is one of the second largest four-wheel vehicle manufacturers in ASEAN and is a fast growing country in the automotive sector. The ongoing challenge faced as a four-wheeled vehicle manufacturer today is how the industry can reduce wasteful activities in the production process in order to have strong competitiveness in today's increasingly fierce competition era. The phenomenon of increasing competitiveness forces industrial players in Indonesia to make improvements to their production systems to make them more efficient. Waste is identified using the Waste Assessment Model (WAM). Researchers used a questionnaire to 5 respondents who are experienced and experts in the automotive industry. From the results of WAM, it is known that the biggest waster is transportation and defects with a percentage of 20.44% and 18.87%, respectively. To minimize transportation waste, researchers used a lean automation approach by changing the manual transfer system to AGV and changing the transportation system from a line stocking model to a kitting system model, resulting in a decrease in the number of man power from 17 people. to 11 people and an increase in Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) from 56.76% to 63.62%. For waste defects, improvements were made using the DMAIC approach so that there was an increase in the sigma level from 3.63 to 4.5.
