Abstract

This study aims to examine whether Corporate Governance and Firm Size significantly affects Financial Distress. The corporate governance structure in this study uses indicators of Size of Board Directors, Proportion of Independent Commissioner, Proportion of Managerial Ownership and Audit Committee. The population in this study is manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2016-2018 period. Based on the simple random sampling method with Slovin formula, the samples obtained is 59 companies in the period 2016-2018 so that obtained 177 observations. Data analysis techniques used in this study using multiple regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that the Size of Board Directors, Proportion of Independent Commissioner, Proportion of Managerial Ownership and Audit Committee has a in-significant influence on Financial Distress. However, Firm Size has a significant influence on Financial Distress. Keywords : Corporate Governance, Firm Size and Financial Distress Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji apakah Corporate Governance dan Ukuran Perusahaan berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap Financial Distress. Struktur tata kelola perusahaan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan indikator Ukuran Dewan Direksi, Proporsi Komisaris Independen, Proporsi Kepemilikan Manajerial dan Komite Audit. Populasi dalam penelitian ini merupakan perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) periode 2016-2018. Berdasarkan metode simple random sampling dengan rumus slovin, sampel yang diperoleh adalah 59 perusahaan pada periode 2016-2018 sehingga diperoleh 177 observasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Ukuran Dewan Direksi, Proporsi Komisaris Independen, Proporsi Kepemilikan Manajerial, dan Komite Audit memiliki pengaruh yang tidak signifikan terhadap Financial Distress. Namun, Ukuran Perusahaan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap Financial Distress. Kata kunci : Corporate Governance, Ukuran Perusahaan dan Financial Distress iii
