Abstract

Tempo magazine has again received sharp attention regarding the point of view of news on unlawful vaccine of AstraZeneca issued by the Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI) which indirectly refers to Tempo's way of making news (creation of news). The purpose of this study is to find out how the management of Tempo magazine's news production based on the creation of news, as well as what Tempo magazine considers in reporting the MUI's fatwa against the AstraZeneca vaccine. The theory used is the news production process of Ashadi Siregar and Rondang Pasaribu. This research also analyzed through Eriyanto's approach to creation of news. This research uses a constructivist paradigm, a qualitative approach and a case study method. The results showed that Tempo magazine production process had to go through three stages, such as pre-production, production, and post-production. From part of creation of news, Tempo magazine really considers three important aspects in writing a news story, especially for the main report, namely magnitude, actuality, and behind the story. Regarding the formation of the news, Tempo magazine is also one of the creative media, because proven to have original news products, resonate with the public, receive critical acclaim, and is able to help the company fulfill its strategic goals. In fact, the editorial team of Tempo magazine also proven to have excellent skills in their fields, expertise, and intrinsic motivation.==== Majalah Tempo kembali mendapat sorotan tajam terkait sudut pandang pemberitaan fatwa haram vaksin AstraZeneca yang dikeluarkan oleh Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) yang secara tidak langsung merujuk pada cara Tempo membentuk sebuah berita (creation of news). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengelolaan produksi berita majalah Tempo berbasis creation of news, serta apa yang menjadi pertimbangan majalah Tempo dalam memberitakan fatwa haram MUI terhadap vaksin AstraZeneca. Teori yang digunakan adalah proses produksi berita Ashadi Siregar dan Rondang Pasaribu. Penelitian ini juga dianalisis melalui pendekatan creation of news milik Eriyanto. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis, pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukan proses produksi majalah Tempo harus melalui tiga tahapan, seperti praproduksi, produksi, dan pascaproduksi. Dari sisi creation of news, majalah Tempo ternyata sangat mempertimbangkan tiga aspek penting dalam menuliskan sebuah berita, terlebih untuk laporan utama, yaitu magnitude, aktualitas, dan behind story. Terkait pembentukan berita tersebut, majalah Tempo juga termasuk dalam salah satu media yang kreatif, karena terbukti memiliki produk berita yang orisinil, beresonansi pada publik, menerima pujian kritis, dan mampu membantu perusahaan memenuhi tujuan strategisnya. Tim redaksi majalah Tempo juga terbukti sebagai SDM yang ekspert di bidangnya.
