Abstract
This study aims to determine the influence of political cognition towards voting decision to beginners voters on the election of head regional DKI Jakarta in 2017. This research used quantitative method with 461 respondents who are the beginner voters aged 17-21 and domiciled in DKI Jakarta. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire of 49 items. Data analysis technique using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). R square result in this research is 0,659 so that explain that political cognition gives the influence to 69,5% to voting decision. Therefore, on the basis of the findings, political cognition has a significant influence on voting decision. Key words : Political Cognition, Voting Decision, and Beginners Voters Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh political cognition terhadap keputusan memilih pada pemilih pemula dalam pemilihan kepala daerah DKI Jakarta tahun 2017. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 461 orang yang merupakan pemilih pemula berusia 17- 21 dan berdomisili di DKI Jakarta. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner berisikan 49 item. Teknik analisis data menggunakan SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). Hasil R square penelitian ini sebesar 0,659 sehingga menjelaskan bahwa political cognition memberikan pengaruh sebesar 69,5% terhadap keputusan memilih. Karena itu, berdasarkan temuan, political cognition memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keputusan memilih. Kata Kunci : Political Cognition, Keputusan Memilih, Pemilih Pemula
