Abstract

This study aims to determine and explain the relationship between smartphone addiction with student learning motivation. A sample of 182 respondents were students of SMK X Jakarta. The sampling technique uses stratified cluster random sampling technique. The measuring instrument used was The Motivated Strategies For Learning Questionnaire which was adapted by Dances & Kewal in 2015 with a Cronbach alpha intrinsic reliability coefficient of 0.828, self-efficacy of 0.895, and anxiety tests of 0.889. Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version adapted with Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of 0.831. The results showed that there was a relationship between smartphone addiction and motivation to learn, namely the intrinsic dimension had a value of r: -0,176 p: 0.017, the self-efficacy dimension had a value of r: -0,036 p: 0,626, and the anxiety test dimension had a value of r: 0,242 p: 0.001. Sampel sebanyak 182 responden merupakan siswa SMK X Jakarta. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik stratified cluster random sampling. Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version yang diadaptasi dengan koefisien reliabilitas cronbach alpha sebesar 0,831. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada hubungan antara adiksi smartphone dengan motivasi belajar, yaitu pada dimensi intrinsic memiliki nilai r: -0,176 p: 0,017, dimensi self-efficacy memiliki nilai r: - 0,036 p: 0,626, dan dimensi tes anxiety memiliki nilai r: 0,242 p: 0,001.
