Abstract

General service water tank is one of the main equipment in the General Service Water System (GSW System). GSW system is an auxiliary cooler on the power plant, this cooling system is very influential on the reliability of the plant. If one of the aspects of cooling is not fulfilled, it will affect the performance of the equipment, until finally it can affect the overall plant performance and the resulting electricity product. Therefore, to be able to do realtime monitoring, it is necessary to design a level control at the GSW tank. The level control in this GSW tank uses the Ziegler Nichols PID method which is simulated using Matlab Simulink software. Ziegler Nichols is a rule that explains the values of proportional gain Kp, Integral Time Ti and Derivative Time Td, based on the transient response characteristics given by the plant. In the Ziegler Nichols PID itself there are 2 tuning methods, namely Method I, Reaction Curve and Method II Oscillation. Based on the test results using Matlab Simulink software, the control system that has the best control response for the GSW Head Tank level control is the PI Control Method I Ziegler Nichols Reaction Curve, with a value of Kp = 111,465, Ti = 1,667, and Td = 0. Where at The control has a 0% Stady State Error response, 0.015 second Dead Time, 24.21% Overshoot, and 22,379 second Settling Time. General service water tank merupakan salah satu peralatan utama yang ada pada General Service Water System (GSW System). GSW system adalah merupakan pendingin bantu pada PLTU, Sistem pendinginan ini sangat berpengaruh terhadap kehandalan pembangkit. Apabila salah satu aspek dari pendinginan tersebut tidak terpenuhi maka akan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja peralatan, hingga akhirnya dapat berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pembangkit secara keseluruhan dan produk listrik yang dihasilkan. Oleh karena itu untuk dapat dilakukan monitoring secara realtime diperlukan perancangan pengendalian level pada GSW tank. Pengendalian level pada GSW tank ini menggunakan metode PID Ziegler Nichols yang disimulasikan menggunakan software Matlab Simulink. Ziegler Nichols merupakan rule yang menerangkan nilai dari proportional gain Kp, Integral Time Ti dan Derivative Time Td, berdasarkan karakterisitik respon transien yang diberikan oleh plant. Pada PID Ziegler Nichols sendiri terdapat 2 metode tuning yaitu metode I Kurva Reaksi dan Metode II Osilasi. Berdasarkan pada hasil pengujian mengunakan software Matlab Simulink, sistem kendali yang memiliki respon kendali terbaik untuk kendali level GSW Head Tank yaitu pada Kendali PI Metode I Kurva Reaksi Ziegler Nichols, dengan nilai Kp = 111,465, Ti = 1,667, dan Td = 0. Dimana pada kendali tersebut memiliki respon Error Stady State 0%, Dead Time 0.015 second, Overshoot 24,21%, serta Settling Time 22.379 second.
