Abstract

Arc Plasma cutting is an efficient cutting machine manufacturing industries and others. In supporting the machine of arc plasma cutting machines with efficient, the nozzle plays an important role in creating a well-focused arc palsma optimal heat. For this reason, in this study the temperature and velocity distribution was simulated on commercial and innovation nozzles based on the computational fluid dynamic (CFD) method by using Ansys Fluent 18.2. The simulation is carried out in 3D shape, the results show that the nozzel innovation-2 have higher heat capacity and outlet velocity with a temperature distribution value of 9669.69 K and 6983 m/s, respectively compared with the commercial, innovation-1 and innovation-3. Thus, the variations of angle and length of the nozzel affect significantly into proper temperature distribution and velocity. Keywords: Arc plasma Cutting, Temperature, Velocity, Nozzle, Computational fluid dynamic (CFD), Asnsy fluent 18.2 Software Arc Plasma cutting merupakan mesin yang efisien dalam pemotogan pada industri manufaktur dan industri lainya. Dalam mendukung kerja dari mesin arc plasma cutting yang efisien, nosel sangat berperan penting dalam menciptakan panas arc palsma yang terkonsentrasi dengan optimal. Untuk itu dalam penelitian ini distribusi temperatur dan velocity disimulasikan pada nosel komersial dan inovasi dengan metode computational fluid dynamic (CFD) menggunakan software Ansys tipe fluent 18.2. Simulasi dilakukan dalam bentuk 3D, hasil pada simulasi menujukan nosel inovasi-2 memiliki kapasitas panas dan velocity outlet atau output yang lebih tinggi dengan nilai distribusi temperatur 9669,69 K dan velocity 6983 m/s dibandingkan dengan nosel komersial, inovasi-1 dan inovasi-3. Pengaruh perubahan sudut dan panjang pada nosel sangat berperan penting pada distribusi temperatur dan velocity.
